The artificial decorative veneer obtained in this way has a wood grain-like pattern with the adhesive layer bent, giving it the appearance of a natural precious wood. It is widely practiced.

However, when using a urethane-based adhesive when laminating dyed veneers, if the viscosity of the adhesive is high, it is difficult to apply it uniformly to the veneer, and if the viscosity is low, it tends to foam during curing, resulting in poor adhesion. There is a problem in that air bubbles form in the adhesive layer, degrading the appearance of the decorative veneer. Also, the curing of this adhesive is accelerated by the moisture in the dyed veneers, so the dyed veneers are laminated quickly. It is necessary to shorten the deposition time, which limits the number of sheets that can be laminated and pressed, making it difficult to form thick flitches and resulting in low productivity.

That is, the manufacturing method of this artificial decorative veneer involves heating the surface of the veneer to 20 to 50°C with a hot roll to dry it, then applying a high-viscosity urethane adhesive, laminating it, and pressing it. , is glued to form a flitch, and this flitch is sliced. For example, as shown in Fig. 1, a dyed veneer 1

Only the surface is dried with a hot roll 2 heated to 150°C, and then the second roll is heated to a surface temperature of 20 to 50°C.
As shown in the figure, a high viscosity urethane adhesive 3 is applied using a roll coater 4.

The dyed veneers 1 are then laminated and piled up, pressed with a concave-convex plate to form flitches, and further sliced at appropriate angles to obtain artificial decorative veneers.

According to this method, since the surface of the dyed veneer 1 is heated to a temperature of 20 to 50°C, a high viscosity urethane adhesive 3 is used.
Even if it is used, its viscosity decreases and it becomes uneven on the dyed veneer 1 (it can be applied uniformly and the generation of bubbles after curing can be prevented).

In addition, since the surface of this dyed veneer 1 is dried with a hot roll 2, the hardening effect of the urethane adhesive 3 due to moisture does not occur, and as a result, the lamination and deposition time can be extended. By increasing the number of flitches, a thicker flitch can be obtained.

Furthermore, when pressing and adhering as a frit, the moisture remaining inside the dyed veneer 1 seeps out to the layer of urethane adhesive 3 applied to the surface of the dyed veneer 1 due to the pressing. Therefore, the urethane adhesive 3 can be quickly cured at the same time as the pressing.

As described above, the method for manufacturing artificially decorated veneer of this invention is as follows:
The surface of the veneer is heated to 20-50℃ with a hot roll and dried, then a high viscosity urethane adhesive is applied and laminated, pressed and bonded to form a flitch, and this flitch is sliced. Because of this feature, it is effective in efficiently producing high-quality artificial decorative veneers.

Example 1 The surface of a dyed veneer made of jelutong material with a moisture content of 80% was dried with a heated roll at a feed rate of 3 m/min and a temperature of 150°C, and the surface temperature of the veneer was raised to about 50°C. On top of that, apply 200% urethane adhesive with a viscosity of 50,000 cP. It was coated at a pressure of 10 kg/cIi for 2 hours using a convex-concave press, and then sliced.
