PURPOSE:To prevent a wiper from automatically operating upon car washing, by providing such as arrangement that the wiper is automatically operated only when a rainfall is detected and as well the exsistence of a driver is detected. CONSTITUTION:When water drops are adhered to a windshield, the output level of a raindrop sensor 1 lowers due to iregular reflection produced by the waterdrops, and therefore, the output level of a comparator 3 becomes high. At this time, when a drive enters into the car and therefore, a pressure sensing switch 4 is closed, the level of the other input terminal of an AND circuit 6 also becomes high and therefore, the output level of the AND circuit 6 becomes high. Therefore, a wiper drive circuit 7 drives a wiper motor 8. However, the pressure sensing switch 4 will not open if the driver is not on the car even though water drops are detected by the raindrop sensor 1, thereby the wiper drive circuit 7 does not operate the wiper motor 8 since the output of the AND circuit 6 is maintained at its low level.
