However, these underdrains have the disadvantage that they cannot drain water evenly over a long period of time because they become clogged with heavy clay soil or lose water permeability due to corrosion.

To bury this culvert drainage material, for example, the width is 30-50 cm.
A trench with a depth of 70 to 100 cm is excavated, and the above-mentioned underdrain drainage material is covered with a hydrophobic covering material to a depth of about 10 cm or more and buried.

As hydrophobic covering materials, gravel, gravel, bamboo, rice husk, etc. are used, but cut scraps, fragments, etc. of synthetic resin foam such as polystyrene foam, or foamed particles are lightweight and difficult to handle. It is the most suitable because it is easy to use, has no fear of corrosion, and has good water permeability.

The underdrain drainage material of the present invention has a drainage groove 1 in its longitudinal direction,
In addition, a through hole 3 is provided in the center, and a communication hole 4 that connects the drainage ditch 1 and the through hole 3 is bored, so water in the soil can be drained from the drainage ditch 1, the circumferential groove 2, and the communication hole 4. The water is discharged through the through hole 3 to the outside.

Even if fine roots of plants invade the drainage ditch 1 and partially obstruct its water permeability, the water is well drained from the through hole 3 through the communication hole 4, so the drainage function is extremely good.

Therefore, once buried, wastewater treatment can be performed permanently, and the through hole 3 occupies a relatively large space, so the amount of resin used as a whole can be reduced, which is extremely advantageous economically.

FIG. 4 shows an example in which drain grooves 6 are further recessed on the upper and lower surfaces of the underdrain drainage material in the above example. By providing the drain grooves 6 on the upper and lower surfaces in this way, drainage can be further improved. This is advantageous because the functionality can be improved and the amount of resin used can also be reduced.
