Traditionally, culverts have been constructed by burying knotted bamboo tubes, cypress, etc. in trenches dug in the ground to improve soil drainage, but bamboo tubes and cypress are not only inconvenient to handle, but also difficult to store underground. It also had the disadvantage of being susceptible to corrosion due to the action of bacteria.

For this reason, metal pipes, clay pipes, etc. are buried in place of bamboo tubes and bamboo pipes, or structures are constructed with stones, bricks, concrete, etc., but these are expensive and the water does not flow into the ends of the pipes. Because it is limited to only a small area, it is unsuitable for use as an underdrain to improve drainage of large areas of soil, such as agricultural land.

Therefore, recently, it is easier to construct than the conventional underdrain method mentioned above.
In terms of practicality, underdrain blocks made of hard synthetic resin foam are being used with good results as they are lightweight and have excellent corrosion resistance and elasticity. Compared to the previous ones,
This allows the blocks to be well joined together, allowing for easy and reliable underdrain construction.

That is, the structure of the underdrain block according to this invention is an underdrain block formed from a hard synthetic resin foam, with drain grooves formed in the longitudinal direction on both sides, and a drain groove divided into left and right at both ends. A fitting portion is formed, and the left and right fitting portions are formed so that the concave portion and the convex portion are opposite to each other, and the left and right fitting portions at one end and the left and right fitting portions at the other end correspond to the left and right fitting portions. The concave and convex portions are also formed to be opposite to each other, allowing the underdrain blocks to be joined to each other at the ends, and the left and right fitting portions are formed in a shape that allows continuous drainage grooves in the longitudinal direction. 2, 2 are drainage grooves formed on both sides of the underdrain block 1, which run along the longitudinal direction and are open to the sides and both end faces, and are formed in multiple rows on each side to improve the drainage effect. However, it is preferable that communication grooves 4, 4 are formed in the boundary parts 3, 3 between the rows, in order to further improve drainage.

Further, 7a and 7b are fitting parts divided into left and right parts at both ends of the underdrain block 1, and in the left and right fitting parts 7a and 7b, the concave part a and the convex part S are formed to be opposite to each other. At the same time, if the left and right fitting portions at one end are, for example, the front side fitting portions 7 a and 7 b as a reference, the left and right fitting portions 7 b and 7 a at the other end corresponding to the rear thereof are as follows.
The concave portion a and the convex portion S are formed to be opposite to each other, so that the underdrain blocks 1, 1 can be joined to each other at their ends.

In addition to the above-mentioned expanded polystyrene, the underdrain block 1 is made of foams manufactured from polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride, copolymers mainly composed of these, and chemically bonded polystyrene resin and polyolefin resin. Foams and the like can also be used.

and 7b and 7a, and are used by joining, for example, by digging a trench in soft land that requires drainage to a predetermined depth and width compatible with the culvert block, and directly inserting the culvert block into the bottom of the trench. In addition to laying the trench 10 and backfilling it with soil to form an underdrain, the bottom of the dug trench 10 is filled with string-like material made by cutting a foam sheet into strips or extruded foam wire material, etc., to prevent clogging. After laying the prevention material 20, the underdrain blocks 1 were buried in the groove 10 with the water-permeable sheet 30 wrapped around the outer periphery of the underdrain blocks 1, and a plurality of underdrain blocks 1 were connected in a continuous state and arranged in a line. After that, a material similar to the above-described clogging prevention material 20 is placed on both sides and above the underdrain block 1, and the trench 10 is backfilled with soil 40 to form an underdrain, resulting in a more preferable underdrain.

That is, surplus water that has seeped underground passes through the anti-clogging material 20 and water-permeable sheet 30 on both sides of the underdrain block 1 and flows into the drains 2 on both sides, and groundwater from the surface of the earth flows through the underdrain block 1. 1 flows into the drainage ditch 2 from the circumferential groove 6 on the outer periphery of the culvert, and the water in the soil over the entire length of the culvert is discharged into a pond, river, etc. through the continuous drainage ditch 2, thereby ensuring good drainage of the soil.

Furthermore, even when the culvert block 1 is pressurized by vehicles moving on the ground surface, the culvert block 1 has a vertical cross-sectional shape with a vertical wall 5 in the center and a section modulus as shown in the above embodiment. It is large and has enhanced bending strength, so there is little deformation, and pressure is absorbed through compression and bending deformation, and when the pressure is removed, it recovers due to the elasticity unique to foam, so it is suitable for buried underdrain blocks. A favorable state is achieved without causing any change in .

This invention is an underdrain block suitable for forming an underdrain as described above, and each fitting part 7a formed at both ends,
7 b has a shape that allows continuous drainage grooves 2 along the longitudinal direction and prevents interruptions in the drainage grooves, making it easier for excess water to flow in and improving soil drainage. Right and left fitting parts 7a, 7b are formed as fitting parts at both ends of the left and right fitting parts 7a, 7b.
In 7b, the concave portion a and the convex portion S are formed to be opposite to each other, and each of the left and right fitting portions 7 a and 7 b at one end
and the respective fitting portions 7b and 7a on the left and right of the other end corresponding to the rear thereof.
However, since the concave part a and the convex part S are formed so as to be opposite to each other, the underdrain blocks are not only well connected in the longitudinal direction, but also eliminate lateral displacement. A suitable bonding state can be obtained.

Therefore, the joints are not clogged with earth and sand, resulting in good drainage, and the state in which multiple underdrain blocks are joined in series is strengthened, making it very stable and reliable. Since the same joint state can be obtained even when the joint is made, the workability is improved, and the underdrain formation work can be performed quickly and without any errors in jointing.

In addition, the entire structure is made of synthetic resin foam, which makes it lightweight and easy to handle, and together with this, it exhibits very practical effects.
