PURPOSE:To obtain tape remaining amount display with which a calculation is facilitated to obtain the remaining amount of tape, by providing a storage circuit which extracts and stores a variable having an unconditional relationship with the tape remaining amount and a reverse converting circuit which obtains the tape remaining amount from the variable and based on a parameter. CONSTITUTION:A revolving number detecting means 1 of a feed reel obtains the signal corresponding to the revolving number PS. In the same way, the signal corresponding to the revolving number PT is obtained by a revolving number detecting means 2 of a take-up reel.
