When measuring the recording time of a previously recorded portion of a tape, there is a method of finding the beginning of the recorded portion, resetting the stop watch built into the tape recorder, performing a playback operation, and stopping at the end of the recorded portion. Such a method has the disadvantage that it requires measurement time equal to the actual recording time and cannot immediately determine the recording time length.

FIG. 1 is a schematic block diagram of an embodiment of the present invention, in which 1 is a supply reel and 2 is a take-up reel. Rotation period detectors 3 and 4 are provided to detect the rotation periods Ts and Tt of both tape reels 1 and 2, respectively.
These detectors detect the number of rotations using, for example, a rotation detector configuration consisting of a tachometer generator, a rotating slit plate, and a pair of light emitting and receiving elements, and obtain data signals indicating each period Ts and Tt from this rotation number. This is a well-known configuration.

Latch circuits 5 and 6 are provided to latch (store) data signals obtained by these detectors 3 and 4 at predetermined intervals, and the outputs of these latches are input to an arithmetic circuit 7 that calculates the amount of tape. Ru. In this arithmetic circuit 7, arithmetic processing is performed according to a predetermined arithmetic formula using data signals corresponding to the rotation periods Ts and Tt of both tape reels 1 and 2 and a constant signal from a constant generator 8. On the other hand, a keyboard 9 is provided to command the measurement of song recording time, and a forward fast forward (or reverse fast forward) command signal is generated in response to operation of a time measurement start switch (not shown), and an operation mode is set. to fast-forward. Further, in response to the operation of a designated music number input switch (not shown) in the keyboard 9, this designated music number is stored in the storage circuit 10.
A song interval detection circuit 11 is provided, and the song interval detection output is inputted to a specified song number start/end detector 12 together with the memory output of the previous memory circuit 10 to detect the start and end of the specified song number. be done. still,

The operation of such a configuration will be explained with reference to FIG. First, suppose that the song time measurement command is issued when the tape position is in the middle of the second song (t 0 ) as shown in Figure 2, and the song number to be measured is the third song. At time t 0 , the system is controlled to tape fast-forward mode and forward fast-forward is performed. Therefore, the tape will thereafter be fed at a constant fast forward speed. During this fast-forwarding, the designated song number start/end detector 12 detects the start time t 1 and end time t 2 of the song on the designated third day using the specified song number signal and the song interval detection signal. When the start detection signal is generated from the detector 12 at time t 1 , the arithmetic circuit 7 is activated, and the rotation period Ts and constant of the supply reel 1 at that time (t 1 ) are activated.
Based on K 1 and K 2 , the remaining tape amount L 1 is calculated using equation (1) and is temporarily stored in the storage circuit 14 .

When the end detection signal is generated from the detector 12 at time t 2 , the arithmetic circuit 7 is activated again, and based on the rotation period Ts of the supply reel 1 at that time (t 2 ) and the constants K 1 and K 2 , the same tape is detected. The remaining amount L1 is calculated. This calculation result and the previous calculation result stored in the storage circuit 14 are subtracted in the calculation circuit 7, and this subtracted value is input to the storage circuit 14. The result of this subtraction is the recording tape length of the third song and corresponds to the recording time, so this time is displayed on the display 13, and the recording time of the designated song number has been measured.

If a negative number is entered as the number of the specified song using the keyboard 9, the mode will be set to reverse fast forward mode, and the song time will be measured in the same manner as above, but in this case, the rotation period Tt of the take-up reel 2 will be used. It will be done. Also, it is possible to calculate the song recording time using equation (2).
Either equation (1) or (2) may be used.
