Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the resonance by constituting a device with a holder to which an object lens is fixed, a base, and >=4 metallic wires which have one ends fixed to the holder and have the other ends fixed to the base and are parallel with one another. CONSTITUTION:Both ends of a driving coil 3 in the focus direction and those of a driving coil 4 in the tracking direction are soldered onto a print board 7 and are connected electrically to metallic wires 6 through a copper foil of the print board 7. When a current is supplied to lead wires 12, the current is flowed to the driving coil 3 in the focus direction or the driving coil 4 in the tracking direction through metallic wires 6, and a holder 2 and an object lens 1 are moved in the focus direction or the tracking direction by the electromagnetic action of this current and a magnet 11. Since the driving coil in the focus direction and that in the tracking direction are supported by the same metallic wires, compliances in both directions are equal to each other, and therefore, the device is driven with the same quantity of power in both directions.

Conventional configurations and their problems In general, in this type of optical disk player, in order to read information accurately, focus control is required to control the distance between the objective lens and the information track position to prevent warping or wobbling of the disk. It is necessary to perform tracking control to control the objective lens to follow the eccentricity of the information track.
Therefore, it is necessary to hold the objective lens so that it can move freely in the focus direction and tracking direction. Conventionally, the objective lens is held with separate leaf springs, and the deflection of the leaf springs moves the objective lens in the focus direction and tracking direction. I was trying to move it to For this reason, the mechanism is complicated and costly, and harmful partial resonance is likely to occur. That is, when the leaf spring in the focus direction is deflected in the focus direction, stress in the focus direction is also generated in the leaf spring in the tracking direction, resulting in a drawback that partial resonance occurs accordingly.

When a current is supplied to the lead wire 12, the current flows through the driving coil 3 in the focusing direction through the metal wire 6, and the driving coil 4 in the tracking direction flows, and due to the electromagnetic interaction with the magnet 11, the holder 2 and the objective lens 1 are moved to their respective positions. According to this example, the focus direction and the tracking direction are supported by the same metal wire 6, so the compliance in both directions is equal, and thus both directions can be driven with the same amount of power.

-1 Since the metal wire 6 is linear rather than plate-shaped, when the metal wire 6 held in the focus direction bends in the focus direction, unnecessary stress applied to the metal wire 6 held in the tracking direction is Much smaller than conventional ones that use springs. This reduces harmful partial resonance.

Furthermore, in order to obtain the same compliance, the wire diameter of the metal wire 6 can be made thicker than that in a double-sided structure, and as a result, the length of the metal wire 6 can be increased. For this reason, the displacement of the holder 2 is large, and highly reliable spring characteristics that are resistant to fatigue can be obtained. On the other hand, if the metal wire 6 having the same wire diameter as in the case of the double-end structure is used, the compliance can be increased, resulting in high efficiency.

Therefore, if both compliance and wire diameter are considered and set to the optimum value, highly efficient and reliable spring characteristics can be obtained.

In this embodiment, the number of metal wires 6 is four, but if there are more than four,
For example, there may be a total of six VCs, three on one side and three VCs on the other. Further, although the metal wire 6 is covered with the rubber tube 5, the metal wire 6 may be insert-molded in rubber. By sandwiching rubber between the holder 2 and the printed circuit board 80 and fixing them with screws, it is possible to adjust not only the inclination of the holder 2 in the focusing direction and the tracking direction but also the position in the longitudinal direction.
