継手のエンクローズ溶接用治具に関しては、種々の提案
がなされている(例えば、特公昭43−5858号、同
50−28181号、意公昭47−48810号参照)
。しかしながら、これらの提案にもかかわらず、従来技
術による治具をもつてしては、実行上、不利な点が数多
くあるため、満足に実用化し得るものはなく、異形棒鋼
のエンクローズ溶接による水平継手は、一般に普及する
に至つていない状況にあるO本発明者等は、異形棒鋼の
水平継手溶接用治具に関し種々研究した結果、本発明に
より、その作業性および溶接効果において極めて優れた
成果を招来する水平継手溶接用治具を提供することに成
功した。
