本発明は化粧合板のつき板として用いられる木質単板の
木目立ち向上処理法に関するものである〔背景技術〕
化粧合板は合板の表面につき板を貼付けて形成され、高
級化粧合板にはつき板として天然木をスライスした木・
質単板が用いられる。そして木質単板として安価な米松
などの木質単板を用いようとする場貧、これらの木質単
板は木目模様かはつき9もぜずすなわち木目立ちが悪い
ために、これらの木質単板を高級な化粧合板には用いる
ことができないものであった。そこで木質単板の本目立
ちを艮くするために木質単板に威焼けによる着色を施す
試みがなされたが、十分に木目立ちを同上させることは

木質単板を先ず第1図の工程図に示すように漂白処理す
る。漂白処理は過酸化水素溶液や市販の漂白剤(日東化
学社製セレクトプリーチや大濃振興社製力う−ミシ50
0など)の溶液で調製した漂白液中に木質単板を浸漬し
たシ木質単板に漂白液を塗布したりすることにより行な
うものである。漂白液はpHを9〜12程展に調整する
のがよい。このように漂白処理することによシ、木質単
板中のP二分や油分が除去されると共に木質単板の色む
らが除かれる。次にこの木質単板を水洗いしたのち、木
質単板に発色処理を行なう。発色処理は硫酸溶液、塩酸
溶液、塩素酸ナトリウム溶液、もしくは市販の発色剤(
犬I!に振興社製カラーミンSなど)の溶液で調製した
発色液に木質単板を浸漬した9木質単板に発色液を塗布
したシすることにより行なうもので、この発色液による
酸化作用で木材含有成分を呈色させて発色させるもので
おる。発色液はpHを1〜2に調整するのがよい。ここ
で、木質単板の木目立ちは春材部が組織密度小で淡い色
を呈し、夏材部が組織密度大で濃い色を呈しているため
生じているものであり、発色処理によって春材部と夏材
部との色調の差を大きくすることによって木′目立ちを
向上させようとするものであるが、木質単板には発色処
理に先立って漂白処理が施してあって、木質単板の色の
ばらつきが除去されていると共K、この漂白処理で組織
が密な夏材部はポーラスな状態となって発色液が浸透し
易すくなっていて、夏材部の呈色度合を犬さくすること
ができるために、木目立ちを向上きせることかできるも
のである。このように発色処理したのち、木質単板を水

さらに木質単板にアルカリ処理及び漂白処理を行なうよ
うにしである。このように発色処理ののちに再鼓県白処
理を行なうことにより、春材部の色を漂白して(夏材部
は組織が蜜なため漂白作用を受は難い)木目立ちをさら

のであシ、従来より低級品としてしか用いられなかった
材の木質単板を高級品として用いることがoT能になる
ものでるる。しかも処理は漂白処理や発色処理などで行
