Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a colored wheel of which colored coating film has been improved in peel resistibility by such an arrangement wherein a colored coating film is composed by such a method that the surface of a wheel made of steel is first electroplated by nickel and it is further covered by a film of chromate, and then a transparent or colored paint is further coated on the surface. CONSTITUTION:A double-layered nickel layer of approx. 7.5mum in thickness is formed by electroplating a wheel made of steel by nickel, and then a film of colored chromate of approx. 200Angstrom in thickness is formed. A transparent and colorless urethane resin paint is coated to the internal and external circumferential surfaces of this wheel into a thickness of approx. 15-20mum. In this case, if a colorless chromate film is formed, a colored paint is to be applied. The ground nickel layer and the colored chromate film are seen in bright golden color through the transparent paint and a colored wheel which is excellent in durability can be obtained.

Conventionally, steel wheels used for automobiles and motorcycles (hereinafter simply referred to as "vehicles") are prone to cracking, so in order to increase their corrosion resistance, they are coated with either a single layer or multiple layers of nickel by electroplating on the surface. 1111.1 is formed, and furthermore, when the top layer is exposed to wind and rain and comes into contact with dust, dust, etc., the nickel underlayer is On top of that, a single or multiple layer of chromium is formed. This nickel and chrome laminate is 21. It has already been proven that the car 4'+i0 is extremely durable.

In recent years, everything has become more colorful and individualized. The car industry has also been affected by this trend, with aluminum cars now being colored with aluminite, and steel cars being fitted with aluminium. Add coating 11 to the device and add J'L1.
These cars 'H1 and iD have appeared. Particularly in the case of motorcycles aimed at young people, the demand for decorative decorations is gradually increasing. However, even when paint is applied, the adhesion of the paint is poor, and when used under harsh conditions such as on wheels, the paint peels off and the product loses its commercial value.

- The chromate film adheres very well to the two metals and the chromium, and furthermore, the corrosion of both metals.
On the other hand, it is possible to improve the heat resistance and impact resistance of the color, but on the other hand, it is weak in the air, has poor abrasion resistance, and also decomposes due to dehydration reaction at around 200"C. Because of its characteristic of chromate coating, it has not been used at all to break the electroplated nickel layer or chromium layer of wheels. However, the inventor has developed a coating that has good adhesion to the chromate coating. 1 on top of the chromate film [By applying this, the above-mentioned drawbacks of the chromate film are compensated for, and the applied paint is assumed to be a nickel layer or chromium that is strongly electroplated beyond the area where It was discovered that the material adhered to the layer.

A two-layer nickel layer having a thickness of approximately 7.57 mm is formed by nickel electrolysis according to a conventional method. Next, after washing with water, chromium electroplating is performed according to the fTζ method to form a chromium layer with a thickness of about 0.2 tt on the nickel underlayer. Next, chromate treatment is performed using a conventional method to coat the overlapping layers of nickel and chromium with a chromate film approximately 20 OA thick, mainly on the surface of the chromate film near the inner peripheral surface and side surfaces of the wheel.
Apply transparent urethane resin paint of appropriate color to a thickness of approximately 1.
Apply 5/l using an appropriate method, and then apply a transparent, abrasive urethane resin paint to a thickness of approx. Due to the extremely thin film, the chromium layer that serves as the base layer, and the colored nature of the paint, the color given appears to shine, making it highly decorative.
