Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain correct search of a recording start position when a signal is recorded newly on a magnetic tape recorded with an address signal by executing a cue or a review taking a position on the magnetic tape recorded with a final address signal as a start point and detecting the end of a group signal in succession to the final address signal in response to the detection of a silent part on its way. CONSTITUTION:In setting a magnetic tape 1 on which address signals A1-A3 are recorded in the recorder and turning on a recording stand-by key on an operation keyboard 8, an address signal detecting circuit 6 detects sequentially an address signal on the magnetic tape 1 and stores the signal in a storage circuit 12. In turning on an address signal recording key on the operation keyboard 8 with the pause or recording pause state, an address signal A4 next to the final address signal A3 is recorded through a recording head 2b. Further, a new group signal is recorded in succession to the address signal recorded after the group signal of the address by operating the recording key and aplying a group signal to be recorded after the address signal A4 to a tape information input terminal T2.

Conventionally, a series of acoustic signals such as one piece of music or one unit of a language learning material is treated as a group signal, an address signal indicating the recording start point is recorded at the beginning of each group signal, and the recorded address signal is detected. Accordingly, various tape recorders have been proposed in which it is possible to easily locate the beginning of any desired group signal.

However, in general with this type of tape recorder,
When recording a new tape after the last group signal on a tape that has been partially recorded using address signals, it is necessary to detect the end of the group signal after the last address on the tape. The end of the tape is detected by repeatedly manually fast-forwarding, rewinding, and reproducing the tape, or by detecting the presence of a silent section for a predetermined period of time or longer.

The former method requires time and effort to detect the end. On the other hand, the latter method is an indirect method of detecting silent parts over a certain period of time, so if a croup signal is recorded after a certain period of time, this bruch signal will be ignored. Another drawback is that the address signal to be recorded next must be determined using another method.

The present invention has been made in order to eliminate the drawbacks of the conventional ones described above, and detects all address signals recorded between both ends of a magnetic tape during a cue or review operation performed in response to a key operation. The detected address signal is stored as address information, a cue or review operation is performed at one end of the magnetic tape after all of the address signals have been detected, and the address signal detected during the cue or review operation is stored as the address signal. The final address signal on the magnetic tape is detected by comparing with the address information, and a cue or review operation is performed starting from the position on the magnetic tape where this final address signal is recorded, and a silent part is detected in the middle. By detecting the end of the group signal that follows the final address signal accordingly, the recording start position can be easily and highly reliably found when newly recording on a magnetic tape using the address signal. The purpose of the present invention is to provide a tape recorder with the following features.

As shown in FIG. 2, the magnetic tape 1 on which the address signals A1 to A3 are recorded at the head of each of the group signals G1 to G3 is inserted into the tape recorder, and the recording standby key on the operation keyboard 8 is turned on. do. In response to this turning on of the recording high key, the control circuit 9 issues a review command to the drive circuit 10, causing the mechanical section to perform a review operation. During this review operation, the playback head 2a is in contact with the magnetic tape 1), and the address signal detection circuit 6 sequentially detects the address signals on the magnetic tape 1 based on the playback signal from its output. The address signals are sequentially stored in the storage circuit 12.

When the beginning end of the magnetic tape 1 is reached by this review operation, a reverse command is applied to the control circuit 9 (reverse command) to the drive circuit 10 in response to a signal from an end detection circuit (not shown) to put the mechanism into a cue operation state. During this queue operation, address signals are sequentially stored in the storage circuit 12. Through this queue operation from the beginning to the end of the magnetic tape 1, all of the address signals on the magnetic tape 1 are detected. Address information is written in the storage circuit 12.

Then, the reverse operation is performed again at the end of the magnetic tape 1, and the review state is resumed. The address signal detected in this review operation is compared with the address information stored in the storage circuit 12 in the comparator circuit 13, and when the recorded portion of the address signal A3 in the magnetic tape 1 reaches the playback head 2a, the address signal is stored in the memory circuit 12. A match is made between the storage address signal in the circuit 12 and the detected address signal to detect the final address, and a signal is applied from the comparison calculation circuit 13 to the control circuit 9 in response.

When a silent part on the magnetic tape 1 is detected by the silent part detection circuit 5 based on the playback signal in the cue state, a signal is applied from the silent part detection circuit 5 to the control circuit 9, and the control circuit 9 is controlled accordingly. The circuit 9 issues a tape running stop command to the drive circuit 10. This causes the mechanism to be placed in a stop, pause, or recording pause state, for example.

Furthermore, as shown in FIG. 3, the magnetic tape 1 on which a new group signal is to be recorded may be such that only the address signal X is stored and no group signal is recorded after that. In order to cope with such a case, if there is no group signal after the address signal, that address signal may be ignored so as not to be detected as the final address.

Furthermore, in order to be compatible with the magnetic tape 1 shown in FIG. 4, in which the recording of a new group signal must be performed by erasing the previously recorded signal, it is necessary to record a new group signal continuously from the beginning of the tape. It is only necessary to consider only the information of the address signal that is displayed as the address signal.
