Abstract

PURPOSE:To stably secure a printing surface of a ribbon adapted to a printing pressure exerted by a printing head, by a construction wherein guide rollers for guiding a ribbon to a printing head can be freely inclined. CONSTITUTION:The guide roller 12, 12a fitted to a supporting shaft 15 is rotatably supported by a projected streak 17 internally making contact therewith, and can be freely inclined in the range of a gap 20 between a shaft hole 16 and the shaft 15 with the projected streak 17 as a fulcrum. Accordingly, the guide rollers themselves can be inclined to the inside by an unbalanced portion of the tension on the ribbon 13 let out, thereby automatically preventing an irrational strain from being generated in the ribbon 13 itself.

Normally, the printing ribbon used in printers is stored in a ribbon cartridge (1) as shown in Figures 1 and 2, and the ribbon is drawn out to the platen (2). 3) is guided by guide rollers (4) and (4a). (5) is a print head.

However, during the assembly process, for example, the head surface (5a) that presses against the paper (8) surface of the platen (2) with the ribbon (3) sandwiched therebetween is As shown in Figure 5, a slight inclination tends to occur. Therefore, the ribbon (

This distortion phenomenon occurs when the print head (5) is tilted, for example, in the direction shown in FIG. A loosening phenomenon (9) occurs on the lower side B (3b), and a pulling phenomenon (10) occurs on the lower B (3b) side. This distortion phenomenon occurs when the printing head (5) is tilted in the direction shown in FIG. 5, and the slackening phenomenon (9) and the tensioning phenomenon (1o) appear in opposite positions to the above.

Therefore, the ribbon (3) (7) m along the print head (5)
If the above phenomenon occurs, a frill-like distortion occurs in the ribbon (3), which tends to cause variations in the printing pressure of the printing spatula l' (5) that comes into pressure contact with the paper/'cJ surface. In addition, the occurrence of such distortion in the ribbon (3) means that when the ribbon (3) is wound, the used part of the ribbon sent from the guide roller (4a) to the take-up spool side However, the flange (11) of the guide roller (4a) cannot guide the ribbon (3) properly in the winding direction, and the ribbon (3) is drawn between the pin shaft (6) and the guide roller (4a). There was a problem in that the ribbon could not be wound normally due to the winding.

In order to solve the above-mentioned problem, the present invention automatically tilts the guide roller so that even if the print head in pressure contact with the platen side is tilted, the ribbon along the print head will not be distorted. Therefore, the so-called ribbon skew can be eliminated by automatically absorbing it with a guide roller.

Configuration Next, the present invention will be explained based on embodiments shown in the drawings. In FIG. 6, reference numerals (12) and (12a) indicate the guide rollers of the printing ribbon (13).
14), it is arranged in the surface area of the ribbon portion led out to the printing section. This guide roller (12)/(12a)
(hereinafter simply referred to as (12)) is provided with a shaft hole (16) that can be loosely inserted into the support shaft (15), as shown in Fig. 7. A flange-like protrusion (17) is provided integrally with the support shaft (15) at the longitudinal center position. The protrusion (17) is arranged in the shaft hole (1) of the guide roller (12).
6), and the dimensions are such that it can be slid together with the flange (18).
The outer surface of (18), the so-called guide roller (12) 1
The lower edges (19) each have an arcuate configuration. Therefore, the guide roller (12) attached to the support shaft (15) is
The guide roller (j2) of the bracket is rotatably supported by the inscribed protrusion (17), and the guide roller (j2) of the bracket is supported by the protrusion (17) within the range of the gap (20) between the shaft hole (16) and the support shaft (15). It can be tilted freely using the fulcrum.

In the above, the guide roller (
12) may be constructed by providing a protrusion (17) on the shaft hole (16) side of the guide roller, as shown in FIG. 8, for example. In addition, the arrangement of these protrusions (17) does not necessarily have to be at the longitudinal center position of the guide roller (j2) as shown in the figure, but may be arranged up and down as long as the rotation and inclination of the guide roller (12) can be maintained. They may be provided at appropriate positions.

In FIG. 6, (21) is a guide roller constructed by ordinary means (for example, the same as in the conventional example); (22)
2 is a spool on the ribbon supply side, 23 is a spool on the ribbon winding side, and 24 is a ribbon winding drive belt. Note that the guide roller (21) may be a swingable guide roller according to the present invention, if necessary.

9 and 10 show how the guide roller (12) of the present invention is used, and (25) shows a print head used in a thermal printer. Therefore, if the print head (25) is tilted in the direction shown in FIG.
12) and (12a) can be freely tilted in the direction shown in Fig. 9 to prevent distortion due to stretching and slack from occurring at the upper and lower edges of the ribbon (13) along the print head (25). Eliminate. Similarly, if the print head (25) is tilted in the direction shown in FIG.
can be freely tilted in the direction shown in FIG. 10, and the occurrence of distortion due to elongation and slack in the upper and lower edges of the ribbon (13) along the print head (25) can be eliminated in the same manner as above. .

Effects Since the guide roller of the present invention is constructed as described above, even though the ribbon portion that is pressed against the surface of the platen is distorted due to the inclination of the print head, the guide roller itself is not affected by the unbalance of the ribbon from which it is guided. The ribbon can be tilted inward with a certain amount of tension, automatically eliminating unreasonable distortion of the ribbon itself. Furthermore, since the slack in the ribbon is absorbed by the outwardly tilting action of the guide roller, slack in the ribbon does not occur unnecessarily at the printing surface of the head.

Therefore, according to the present invention, the guide roller that guides the ribbon to the printing eight 1 is configured to have a free inclination, so ribbon skew caused by the print head can be accurately prevented, and printing by the print head can be prevented. The printing surface of the ribbon that adapts to the pressure can be ensured in an extremely stable manner. In addition, since the configuration is extremely simple, manufacturing and assembly are extremely convenient, and it can greatly contribute to improving the printing quality of the printer.
