Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an ink from penetrating between printing elements and prevent the function of the printing elements from being hampered due to solidification of the ink or the like, by a method wherein printing surfaces of printing elements are deviated by a predetermined distance in a transverse direction. CONSTITUTION:Adjacent printing surfaces 2, 2 of the printing elements 1, 1... are spaced from each other by a distance L. In a printing operation in which the printing surface 2 directly strikes an ink ribbon, even when the ink of the ink ribbon is adhered to the printing surface 2, the ink can not penetrate to the depth between the printing elements 1, 1 because the printing surfaces 2, 2 are spaced from each other by the predetermined distance L. Therefore, the action of the printing elements is not hampered by the ink, and a smooth operation of the printing elements can be expected. Further, since the printing surfaces provided at the tips of the printing elements are sufficiently spaced from each other, a coating material for preventing the ink from penetrating along the surfaces may be applied to the printing surface, if required.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION This invention provides printing elements formed of thin plates in a predetermined number horizontally 1@
1. The purpose of this paper is to improve the impact printer head that prints characters, symbols, graphs, figures, etc. in a dot matrix while scanning the objects in the horizontal direction. When the tips of the printing elements are brought into close contact with each other, the ink on the ink ribbon enters between the printing surfaces of each printing element by capillary action, and penetrates deeper into the printing element, thereby controlling the operation of the printing element. There are some places where efforts are being made to prevent interference.

Conventionally, the printing surface of the tip of the printing element of this type of printer was
As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the devices are arranged in a vertical line,
Furthermore, since dot printing is performed on the paper via the ink ribbon, the print surface of this printing element directly hits the ink ribbon. At this time, the ink squeezed from the ink ribbon also adheres to the printed surface. However, since the printing surfaces are in close contact with each other, the adhering ink causes capillary action through the minute gaps and enters between the printing elements. The ink has an extremely high viscosity, and therefore, the ink that enters between the printing elements not only hinders the operation of the printing elements themselves, which operate at high speed, but also
In some cases, the ink itself solidifies after a predetermined period of time has elapsed, causing the printing element itself to stop functioning altogether. Therefore, the present invention was proposed in order to solve the conventional defects, and it is an object of the present invention to provide a head for a dot matrix printer in which the printing surfaces of mutually contacting printing elements are shifted in the left and right directions. It is something to do.

An actual example of this invention ('!The structure is as described below,
Each printing element (adjacent printing surface f' of 11(1)...)
l [2) are separated from each other by a length L, so that the capillary action caused by the conventional close contact does not act at all. That is, during printing, the printing surface (2) directly hits the ink ribbon, so that the ink on the ribbon is transferred to the printing surface 1.
Even if the nuclear ink adheres to the printing surface +21 (2), since they are separated from each other by a certain distance, there will be no capillary physical phenomenon, and therefore the printing element 11) (
It will not penetrate deep into the 11th room. In such a case, the conventional ink does not interfere with the printing of the printing element, and
This makes it possible to expect the printing element to function smoothly. Furthermore, since the printing surfaces at the tips of each printing element that have been improved in this way are sufficiently isolated from each other, if necessary, a paint can be applied to prevent ink from creeping into the printing surface. This also became possible.

When driving this head, depending on the scanning direction of the head, an electric signal of an electromagnet that drives a printing element having a printing surface that is displaced backward with respect to the scanning direction is used.
Normal printing can be achieved by delaying the electric signal of the electromagnet that drives the stamp element whose printing surface is biased forward in the scanning direction by a time corresponding to the scanning speed of the head. It's half fever.

As will be explained in detail in the described embodiments, the present invention is characterized in that the printing surface of the printing element is shifted left and right by a predetermined length, thereby preventing ink from entering between the printing elements. This method is unique in that it can prevent the printing element from being inhibited due to assimilation of the ink.
