Abstract

PURPOSE:To prepare a cold rolling oil for steel plate, having high emulsion stability, by adding an oil-soluble anionic substance to a specific rolling oil to reduce the zeta potential of the oil, and adding a water-soluble cationic emulsifying agent to the mixture. CONSTITUTION:The objective cold rolling oil can be prepared by (1) adding (A) an oil-soluble anionic substance, e.g. organic acids such as stearic acid, oleic acid, etc., an animal or vegetable oil containing free fatty acid, an acidic phosphate, etc. to (B) a rolling oil composed of a mineral oil and/or a synthetic ester to decrease the zeta potential of the rolling oil to <=70mV, and (2) adding (C) a water-soluble cationic emulsifier composed of a salt of an amine such as aliphatic amine, ethanolamine, polyamine, etc. to the above mixture.

Cold rolling involves adding various additives to animal and plant oils such as beef tallow and palm oil, various synthetic esters, mineral oils, or mixtures of these oils, emulsifying and dispersing them in water, and spraying the resulting mixture onto the steel plate surface and roll surface. It is being done. The use of nonionic, anionic, and cationic emulsifying dispersants is introduced in the literature in Kogyo Materials Vol. 19, No. 4 as emulsifying agents used to create stable emulsifying dispersions of these oils. ing. Lubricating oil is made by adding an emulsifying dispersant and mechanical stirring power1 to 5.
It is emulsified and dispersed into particles of about 0μ. The resulting particles are protected by a film of adsorbed emulsifying and dispersing agent, and coalescence of the particles is prevented by the electrostatic repulsion of the electric double layer. In order to obtain stable emulsifying and dispersing properties, the emulsifying and dispersing agent must quickly adsorb around oil particles to form an adsorption film, and must also be able to exert an appropriate zeta potential. The water-soluble cationic emulsifying and dispersing agent adsorbs onto the surface of the oil particles and imparts a positive zeta potential to the oil particles.

The higher the adsorption density of the emulsifying dispersant or the stronger the adsorption film is against mechanical shearing, the better the emulsifying dispersion stability is.

The present invention, which was made to achieve this object, adjusts the zeta potential to -70rnV by adding an oil-soluble anionic substance to mineral oil, synthetic ester, or a mixture thereof in advance, and then adding a water-soluble cationic substance to the mineral oil, synthetic ester, or a mixture thereof. Add emulsifying dispersant
A cold rolling oil for steel sheets characterized by ~, the zeta potential of lubricating oil particles is changed by the addition of an oil-soluble anion, thereby stabilizing the emulsifying and dispersing properties of a water-soluble cationic emulsifying dispersant. It is possible to keep it.

When beef tallow containing normal free fatty acids, which is the base of rolling oil, is emulsified and dispersed by mechanical stirring, the zeta potential is -701.
11V, and relatively good emulsification and dispersion properties can be obtained by using water-soluble cationic emulsification dispersants. However, in the case of mineral oils and synthetic esters, the zeta potential is nobler than -50mV, and water-soluble cationic emulsification and dispersion agents are used. Good emulsifying and dispersing properties cannot be obtained with these agents. However, when an oil-soluble anionic substance such as stearic acid is added, the zeta potential decreases, and -70
When rnV is more basic, good emulsion dispersion stability is obtained. This is considered to be because by reducing the zeta potential of the lubricating oil particles, the adsorption density of the water-soluble cationic emulsifying dispersant increases and the adsorption force becomes stronger.
