The wires are held together by loops 8 to stress them, and may pass through grooves in the ends of the rods and through hooks 12 secured to the booms. Alternatively the wires may pass through ducts in the booms (Fig. 6, not shown). The units may make up floors or walls, and may be covered with insulating layers 10 and finishing layers 9. Adjacent units are screwed together via threaded bores in the booms. Window pane locating flanges 14 can be provided on the booms.
