DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention provides a method for cleaning aluminum materials such as aluminum or aluminum alloys, which is generated by degreasing the aluminum materials as a pre-process of surface treatment such as anodic coating treatment or chemical conversion coating treatment for painting bases. This invention relates to a method for removing smut.

For degreasing in the above step, an organic solvent or an alkaline degreasing solution is generally used, and among these, an alkaline degreasing solution is often used. This is because a degreasing effect can be obtained that also serves as a slight surface corrosion of the aluminum material. As the alkaline degreasing solution, a caustic soda solution having a concentration of 5 to 10% by weight is often used, and the action of the caustic soda corrodes the surface of the aluminum material and degreases it.

At this time, impurities such as magnesium, copper, and silicon contained in the aluminum material are not dissolved in the caustic soda and are formed as a black film on the surface of the aluminum material. This black film is called smut. If the surface treatment is performed while the smut remains on the aluminum material, the surface treatment film will be unevenly formed, so the smut is removed as a preliminary step to the surface treatment.

Conventionally, the removal of the smut has been carried out by dipping in an acid, and the dipping solution used is nitric acid or a mixture of nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid.

Generally, a mixed solution of nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid is used for aluminum materials with many impurities, such as aluminum castings or aluminum die-cast products, and a nitric acid solution is used for aluminum materials with relatively few impurities. There is. The method for removing smut by acid immersion is a method that can be carried out on parts made only of aluminum, and in parts made of a combination of aluminum and iron, the acid immersion will violently dissolve the iron parts. However, there was a drawback that it could not be implemented.

In addition, there were other disadvantages such as exhaust equipment had to be provided during acid immersion, and the waste liquid after use had to be discharged after treatment at a treatment facility.
