Abstract

PURPOSE:To secrete an antimicrobial substance on viscous liquid of the surface of fish bodies, to prevent stress, and infectious diseases of fishes, by using pantethine as an active ingredient, feeding it to fishes. CONSTITUTION:A substance for preventing infection of fishes, containing pantethine as an active ingredient. Objects of infectious diseases are aeromonas disease and ulcer disease of carp, red pest and brachitis of eel, furunculosis of Oncorhynchus masou, rainbow trout, etc., vibriosis of sweet fish, yellow tail, red sea bream, rainbow trout, etc. 1-100mg/fish weight kg/day as pantethine is medicated. Pantethine usually suspended or dissolved in fats and oils (e.g., feed oil, etc.) for fish farming or in water is added to a feed and adsorbed on it just before its use and fed to fishes. It is considered that by feeding pantethine a substance having antimicrobial activity is secreted on viscous liquid of fish bodies, and it prevents infection by pathogenic germs.

[Detailed Description of the Invention] Infectious diseases of fish are caused by stress caused by the deterioration of the environment in which the fish live, such as changes in water temperature and lack of oxygen.

They occur frequently when stress such as overcrowding and increases in ammonia and nitrite nitrogen occur, increasing the damage caused. To improve the environmental deterioration that causes stress to these fishes,
In farmed fish, etc., there is an inverse relationship with productivity improvement.
It is not necessarily something that can be resolved immediately.

Example Magoi 8 with an average weight of 2859 (average body length 20.4 cm)
The nine fish were divided into three groups of 18 fish each, and each group was housed in a 2-ton aquarium. Group 1 was normally reared at a water temperature of 25°C, and Groups ■ and ■ were reared under stress every day in which the water temperature was raised by 6°C over 12 hours a day and then lowered by 6°C over the next 12 hours.

As feed, commercially available adult carp pellets were given at a rate of 1% of body weight per day. Group (2) was treated as a pantethine administration group, and pantethine was added to the feed to give an amount of 100 m9 per body weight.

The antibacterial activity of body surface mucus and the number of bacteria attached to each part of the fish body were measured. The results are shown in Tables 1 to 8, and the blood properties decreased in Group 2, which was subjected to water temperature stress, but did not decrease in Group 2, which received pantethine while applying the same stress.
