In general, laminated decorative veneers are made by laminating multiple veneers obtained from logs etc. with an adhesive, then sandwiching and pressing them between a pair of upper and lower molds with curved mold surfaces. It is manufactured by converting it into pieces and then slicing it. In this case, if there are defects such as knots or stains on the surface of the veneer,
Since these appear on the resulting laminated decorative veneer and cause a decline in commercial value, veneers with defects such as knots and stains are removed and discarded at the raw veneer stage.

The present invention is a method for producing laminated lumber in which a plurality of veneers are laminated and bonded to form a flitch, and the flitch is processed to obtain laminated lumber, in which at least a portion of the veneers of the plurality of veneers are bonded together. It is characterized by using one or both of the following (5) and ω) as the plate.

In other words, when a veneer with defects such as knots and stains is hollowed out and removed and used to make a flitch, the hollowed out part will be damaged by the pressure applied during flitching. Because the veneer and adhesive get stuck in the veneer, slicing it will yield a veneer with no knots or stains. If the cut-out portion does not completely disappear after one flitching and slicing, the objective can be achieved by repeating the flitching and slicing several times.

つぎに、この発明をその一例にもとづいて説明する。Next, the present invention will be explained based on one example.

First, in a veneer 2 with knots 1 as shown in Figure 1, the knots 1 are hollowed out, and the knots are removed as shown in Figures 2 and 3. 3 is a hollow hole for a knot. Clause (Death Clause,
In addition to veneers with raw knots, the same treatment is applied to veneers with defects such as stains, discoloration, and tar. Next, the hollowed out veneer 2 and another veneer (a veneer with no defects from the beginning or a hollowed out veneer) are laminated with adhesive and pressed together using a pair of upper and lower flat plate molds. Then, a flitch 4 as shown in FIG. 4 is made.

Next, this flitch 4 is sliced (straight grain) perpendicular to the laminated surface as shown by the arrow to produce a straight grain veneer (raw material veneer) 5 as shown in FIG. In this material veneer, the hollow hole 3 (Fig. 2) is filled with the pressing pressure during flitching by the material veneer above and below the hollow hole 3 and the adhesive. Because it is obtained by slicing a piece of wood, as shown in Figure 6, there are two
The wood grain is only slightly distorted. In Figure 6, 6 is the adhesive part that has entered the hollow hole, 2',! These are the upper and lower veneer parts that have been inserted into the cut-out holes.

Therefore, by using this as a material veneer, making it into 7-piece pieces and slicing it in the same manner as in the past, a laminated decorative veneer can be obtained. In this case, only the material veneer obtained as described above may be used, or it may be used in combination with a material veneer that has no defective parts from the beginning.

In addition, if the deburring holes 3 (Fig. 2) are not completely filled in the above manner, the obtained material veneers may be laminated and bonded to form a flitch, and then sliced. Hole 3 can be filled. Flitching like this.

The number of times of slicing is arbitrary and can be performed until the hollow hole 3 is completely filled. Also, the hollow hole 3 is 87
It is preferable that the hole 3 be wide at the top and narrow toward the bottom, as shown in the figure, or so that the inner surface of the hole 3 is raised in the middle, as shown in Figure @8.

By doing so, the material veneers above and below the hollow hole 3 can easily fit into the hollow hole 3 and fill it up during the pressing during flitching. The hollow hole 3 in Fig. 7 can be formed by hollowing out the veneer with an inclination during the hollowing process, and the hollow hole 3 in Fig. 8 can be formed as in the usual method 1 (after forming the hollow hole, pressing the veneer It can be formed by

In this way, a laminated decorative veneer can be obtained by effectively utilizing veneers with defective parts without discarding them. In addition,
This invention is applicable not only to the production of laminated decorative veneers, but also to the production of plate-shaped laminated timber and columnar laminated timber, which are thicker than laminated decorative veneers.
It can also be applied to flitches (which can be obtained by combing, planing, etc.).

[Example 1] Lakuri veneer of South Sea coniferous wood Agatis (thickness 1.0 mm)
For those with defects, knots and insect holes are cut out in a circular shape (see Figure 3 for the cross-sectional shape of the hole), and stains, resin, and discolored parts are cut out in a rectangular shape (see Figure vJ3 for the cross-sectional shape of the hole). did. Next, these are dried (moisture content: 5±2% by weight), coated with a vinyl acetate emulsion adhesive, stacked in multiple layers, and pressed using a flat plate mold (sealed to a pressure of 15) to form a flitch. This was sliced with a straight grain to obtain a veneer of material with a thickness of 1-. Next, a plurality of the thus obtained material veneers are coated with the same adhesive as above, stacked, and pressed using a pair of upper and lower molds with curved mold surfaces to form a flitch. Then, it was sliced to obtain a laminated veneer. The resulting laminated veneer has knots from raw wood.

[Example 2] For Agatis slow cree veneer with defective parts,
It was hollowed out in the same manner as in Example 1, then decolorized, dyed, and dried, and then pressed against the hollowed hole part with an inclined (45 degree) mold to form a cross-sectional shape as shown in FIG. . From this point on, a laminated decorative veneer was obtained in the same manner as in Example 1. Utilization rate of Agati rotary veneer in this example: 7
The utilization rate was 2.14 times that of the case without such processing.

[Example 3] Similar to Example 1, a straight-grained sliced veneer was made by hollowing out, flitching, and slicing, and after drying, the same adhesive as used in Example 1 was applied. The materials were laminated and pressed using a flat plate mold under the same conditions as in Example 1 to form a flitch, and then sliced with a straight grain to produce a raw material veneer. From this point on, a laminated decorative veneer was obtained in the same manner as in Example 1. The laminated decorative veneer thus obtained had a smoother feel than that obtained in Example 1.
