In the steering shaft, the upper shaft on the steering link wheel side and the lower shaft on the steering gear side are axially opposed to each other, and both shafts are connected to be relatively swingable via a plate-like elastic body. A coupling for a steering shaft, characterized in that a restraining ring is fitted onto a plate-shaped elastic body to prevent the plate-shaped elastic body from deforming outward in the radial direction.
