A pair of flanges is formed on the rack gear housing that slidably supports the rack shaft, and a mounting insulator with flanges formed at both ends is attached to the outer circumference of the rack gear housing between these flanges. In a rack gear housing mounting structure in which the mounting insulator is mounted on the inside, the space between the flanges of the mounting insulator is held down by a clamp from the outer circumferential side, and the clamp is fixed to a member on the vehicle body side. Deformed portions protruding toward the clamp side are provided, and pressing portions that engage with these deformed portions are provided to protrude from both sides of the clamp in the axial direction of the rack shaft, and these pressing portions press the deformed portion. A mounting structure for a rack gear housing, characterized in that the flanges are pressed to determine the spring constants of the flanges in the axial direction of the rack shaft.
