Abstract

PURPOSE:To correct the posture of the sheet by a simple mechanism by a method wherein the sheet feeding device for a rotary camera or the like is provided with a sheet feeding roller, providing the sheet with a conveying force, and a guide plate, changing the conveying direction of the tip end of the sheet under conveyance. CONSTITUTION:First feeding rollers 1, 1' are arranged rotatably so as to be capable of rotating a copy supported between them. The copy 2, fed inbetween the feeding rollers 1, 1', is pinched by the feeding rollers 1, 1' at the substantially central position thereof to convey it downwardly, and when the tip end rim of the copy is abutted against the second guide surface 3b, the conveying direction thereof is changed into the right direction. The copy 2, whose conveying direction is changed, is fed inbetween the second feeding rollers 4, 4', subsequently, is fed inbetween glass plates 5, 5' by the second feeding rollers 4, 4', is illuminated by an illuminating lamp when it is passing between the glass plates 5, 5' and the picture of the copy is imaged by an imaging lense 10 onto a microfilm 11 moving with a constant speed synchronized with the same of the copy.

2. Description of the Related Art Sheet feeding devices used in rotary cameras, facsimile machines, printing machines, copying machines, and the like have the disadvantage that various problems occur when sheets are transported at an angle with respect to the transport direction. For this reason, conventional sheet feeding devices of this type have a mechanism for automatically aligning the leading edges of sheets.

These conventional alignment mechanisms move movable guide plates provided on one or both sides of the sheet to correct the posture of the sheet that has been conveyed diagonally before reaching a predetermined position.
Although the slanted side portions of the sheet mentioned above are corrected by pushing them with this guide plate, when conveying sheets of different widths, the position of the guide plate must be changed, which is extremely troublesome.

Another alignment mechanism is to detect the posture of the sheet during conveyance and move the conveyance roller in the rotation axis direction to a desired position as necessary, or until the leading edge of the sheet reaches the desired state. It is known to rotate the roller at an angle. However, this mechanism has a complicated configuration;
There was a drawback that wrinkles appeared on the sheet.

In the two-leg device, the document 2 fed between the feed rollers 1' is held by the feed rollers 1' near its center and conveyed downward, and is then held between the feed rollers 1'. When the leading edge of the document hits the second guide surface 3b, the conveyance direction is changed to the right by this guide surface. The document 2 whose conveyance direction has been changed by the second guide surface is fed between the second feed rollers 4 and 4', and then between the glass plates 5 and 5' by the second candy feed rollers 4 and 4'. and is illuminated by an illumination lamp (not shown) as it passes between the glass plates 5 and 5'. An image of the illuminated original is formed by an imaging lens 10 on a microfilm 11 that moves at a constant speed in synchronization with the original.

Now, in the diagonal position as shown in Figure 2 or Figure 3,
When conveyed by the feed roller, the corner of the leading edge of the document being conveyed by the first feed roller 1' first hits the second guide surface 3b. If the original is transported in this state,
A force couple is generated on the document 2 by the conveyance force g by the feeding roller 1', the reaction force f caused by the contact between the second guide surface 3b and the leading edge corner of the document, and the waist of the document itself. and the first feeding roller 1' rotate clockwise around the contact point with the first feeding roller 1', and as the document progresses, its posture is gradually corrected to the correct posture shown by the broken line, and the second candy feeding rollers 5, 5 ’.

FIG. 6 shows an automatic document feeder according to another embodiment of the present invention. Reference numeral 20 denotes a document mounting table that accommodates sheet-like originals m21 in a stacked state in an inclined state; 22, a narrow feed roller that contacts only the approximately central portion of the document 21; and 23, a feed roller across the document conveyance path. 22 is a separation roller whose width is narrower than the width of the original document. The feed roller 22 is rotationally driven in the direction of the arrow, is made of a material having a larger surface friction coefficient than the separation roller 23, and has a cylindrical shape with a narrow width as shown in FIG. The separation roller 23 is driven to rotate in the direction of the arrow to prevent more than one document from being fed. As shown in FIG. 7, the separation roller 23 has a cylindrical shape with a concave central portion.

Reference numerals 25 and 26 designate guide plates that change the conveyance direction of the document being conveyed by the feed roller 22 in two stages. The leading edge of the document transported in the X direction by the feed roller 22 first hits the first guide plate 25 and changes the transport direction downward Y, then hits the second kite plate 26 and changes the transport direction to the right. is changed and sent between the second feeding rollers 27 and 28. The distance between the facing portions of the rollers 22 and 23 and the second guide plate 26 in the conveyance direction is set to be shorter than the length of the document in the conveyance direction. When the document 21 is conveyed obliquely with respect to the conveyance direction, when it hits the 1φ second guide plates 25 and 26, the feed roller 22 rotates around which contact portion it touches, and its posture is corrected. In this embodiment, the posture of the document is corrected in two stages. When conveying various sheets with different widths, approximately the center of the sheet in the direction perpendicular to the conveying direction is the roller 2.
Each sheet is conveyed so as to be in contact with 2 and 23.
