Furthermore, those that compress metal terminal fittings from above the coating,
If the wire is thick or the sheath is thick, it will have a waterproof effect, but if it is a vinyl wire or a thin wire, a gap will be created between the sheath and the metal fitting, and the water-draining effect cannot be expected.

This invention aims to eliminate these drawbacks. After compressing the strands using a metal drain terminal, the cylindrical part that covers the outer periphery of the sheathing part is tapered and compressed into a substantially conical shape.
It is characterized by preventing water leakage from the wire coating and strands.

An embodiment of this invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. 1 is an electric wire, 2 is a strand of the electric wire 1, 3 is a coating of the electric wire 1, and 4 is a strand 2 of the electric wire 1 whose end coating 3 is peeled off and exposed. A cap-shaped terminal base 5 which compresses the outer periphery of itself and holds the wire 1 therebetween covers the outer periphery of the sheathing 3 that is in contact with the wire 1 held by the terminal base 4, and has a small diameter. A substantially conical shape integral with the terminal base 4, in which the small diameter outer peripheral edge 6 and its entire outer periphery are compressed against the outer periphery of the covering 3 until the outer peripheral edge 6 sinks into the covering 3 and the inner surface is completely in contact with the outer periphery of the covering 3. As shown in FIG. 3, this tapered cylindrical part 5 connects a terminal base 4 having a cylindrical part 5' integrally below itself to the end of the electric wire 1, and connects the terminal base 4 to the end of the electric wire 1. Insert it into the taper 7L8 of the board 7, push the upper part of the terminal base 4 in the direction of the arrow with the tool 9, press fit the cylindrical part 5' into the taper 7L8,
The tapered cylindrical portion 5 is deformed to correspond to the inner periphery of the tapered JL8, and compresses the outer periphery of the covering 3 with its small diameter outer periphery edge 6 and the entire outer periphery thereof.

This device has the above structure, and the tip of the electric wire 1 is covered with the terminal fitting 10, and the tapered cylindrical part 5 of the terminal fitting 10 is press-fitted into the taper "JL8" of the panel 7 as described above. Since it is deformed into a substantially conical shape, the tapered cylindrical part 5 completely surrounds the outer periphery of the sheathing 3 of the electric wire 1, and the small diameter outer peripheral edge 6 of the tapered cylindrical part 5 and the entire outer periphery of the tapered cylindrical part 5 cover the outer periphery of the sheathing 3. Since it is compressed, no gap is created between the outer periphery of the covering 3 and the tapered cylindrical portion 5.

Therefore, the water that has entered from the wire 2 and the coating 3 will be removed from the terminal fitting 10.
If this device is used outdoors, there is no risk of water entering the electric wire 1 from this location.

Moreover, since it is compressed in a tapered shape, the tapered cylindrical portion 5 does not shift or loosen, and can maintain strong waterproof function permanently.

Moreover, in order to attach this invention to the electric wire 1, as described above, the terminal base 4 of the terminal fitting 10 is capped on the strand 2 at the end of the electric wire 1.
The strands 2 of the electric wire 1 are compressed and held between the terminal base 4, and the cylindrical portion 5' is press-fitted into the tapered hole 8 of the board 7. Since the entire outer periphery is deformed and formed into a substantially conical tapered cylindrical part 5 by compressing the outer periphery of the covering 3, installation is extremely simple and reliable, and is more effective than the method of molding a part of the terminal and electric wire. In addition, due to the mechanization of the taper process, variations are extremely reduced.

As described above, this invention has an extremely simple structure, is easy to install, and is a drain terminal with a high waterproof effect.
