Automatic transaction devices used in banks for transactions using cards, passbooks, etc. require various devices for operation. For example, as shown in Figure 1, a device that reads magnetic data on a magnetic card, writes it, and imprints embossed data on the card (hereinafter referred to as a card reader), a passbook reading printer, a banknote validator, and a counter. etc. The main body control section CT causes the input/output device diagnostic control section I/O-CK to perform a diagnosis for starting up the operation of the devices all at once before starting to use the devices. This is mainly a diagnosis of whether mechanical operations can start normally (this is called input/output device diagnosis at the operational level). When a customer inserts a card and starts a transaction, the input/output device is It operates under the control of the input/output device diagnostic control unit I/O-CK while performing diagnosis based on the output of the sensor. When the sensor detects an abnormality, all devices are stopped and error detection is performed. If it is a minor error that does not affect the next operation, it is processed and reset, initializes the input/output device diagnosis, and marks it as "handling" (this state is called sensor level input/output device diagnosis). The input/output device for this uses a conveyor belt and a sensor that monitors it, but because the intervals between the sensors are about the length of the bank hole in the longitudinal direction, the banknotes may partially tear and not be ejected. If the piece of paper that was sandwiched between the passbooks is left on the conveyor belt during passbook processing and only the passbook is ejected, it means that the transaction for the previous customer has been successfully completed, and the sensor is activated. The banknote returns to the original customer without detecting any abnormality. When the next customer inserts a banknote, the sensor detects the newly inserted banknote in addition to the leftover banknote, so if the banknote is longer than the specified length, In some cases, it was detected that more banknotes had been inserted, resulting in an error state.Alternatively, in some cases, more banknotes than the number of inserted banknotes were detected and counted, resulting in erroneous deposits. The purpose of the present invention is to improve the above-mentioned drawbacks. An automatic transaction device that can easily detect defective conditions at the sensor level by having a predetermined input/output device perform a diagnostic operation immediately after the operation of one transaction is completed and other input/output devices are operating. Our goal is to provide the following.

In the block diagram shown in FIG. 2, the same reference numerals as in FIG. 1 indicate the same components. LS is a final operation signal detection circuit that monitors and detects a signal that notifies the main unit CT when each input/output device has completed all operations in a predetermined transaction. 0ER indicates the operation end register,
A number of registers corresponding to each input/output device are provided, and when a signal from the aforementioned final operation signal detection circuit LS is inputted, a check is commanded to the input/output device diagnostic control section 1/O-CK.

In response to this check command, the commanded input/output device 1/O
moves its moving parts. For example, if a conveyor belt is used to transport the medium, a motor connected to the conveyor belt is moved to rotate the conveyor belt. If the medium is moved using rollers, a motor connected to the rollers is moved to rotate the rollers. Therefore, since this check is different from normal diagnosis, since the conveyor belt is moved, the movable part can transport the remaining dust as described above to the sensor position, which means that the sensor can detect it. Even if there is something left behind, it can be determined with certainty. An error alarm memory EDM is provided to store the detection output when an error is detected by the sensor, and the error found as a result of diagnosis is stored. As mentioned above, in many cases, the processing for the customer currently being handled can be completed, so it is sufficient to store the diagnosis result based on the command of the operation end register 0ER in the memory EDM. When the transaction is completed and the diagnostic control and memory storage of the input/output device for the final operation are completed, if there is any malfunction, it is notified to the main body control unit CT. In addition, since the automatic transaction device returns to the customer holding state after the transaction is completed, clearing of the memory data, etc. is performed after the above-mentioned diagnosis of the input/output device is completed and it is determined that there is no abnormality. In this way, in the event of an abnormality, the cash count remains in the memory, so it can be checked reliably. In this manner, according to the present invention, the reliability of the operation of the automatic transaction device is improved because the automatic transaction device immediately checks for items that are left in the automatic transaction device and has a negative impact on the next customer's transaction after operation. .

In addition, erroneous withdrawals and deposits can be prevented, giving customers peace of mind and eliminating troubles related to the use of the device. Furthermore, since the diagnostic operation can be performed while other devices are operating, the diagnostic time can also be shortened.
