Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance anti-abrasion characteristic by low cost by using ceramics for an inner liner and by forming an outer liner through casting around the inner one. CONSTITUTION:A ceramic inner liner 01 is made from silicon nitride, silundum, etc. while a cast outer liner 02 is made of iron, aluminum alloy, etc. Strong compressive stressed state inevitable in employing ceramics can be achieved by such a low cost means as casting-round, so that ceramics can be used for inner liners, which gives good effect for prolonging the life of mud pump liners.

According to the above liner of the present invention, since the inner liner is cast in the outer liner, the inner liner can be given a strong compressive stress. By appropriately selecting the inner liner thickness and outer liner thickness, it is possible to prevent the inner liner from becoming under tensile stress even if the pump discharge pressure is an internal pressure. This is important for

Furthermore, the liner of the present invention has the following advantages over shrink-fit liners commonly used to obtain a compressive stress state. In other words, in order to shrink fit, the fitting surface must be machined with high precision, which is a major disadvantage in the case of materials such as ceramics, which are hard and difficult to machine. The liner does not require any processing on the fitting surface, and has great advantages in terms of processing.

As detailed above, the liner of the present invention can obtain the strong compressive stress state that is essential for soils that use ceramics through the low-cost means of casting. This is highly effective in extending the life of pump liners.
