Abstract

PURPOSE:To make various patterns elaborately, quickly and inexpensively, by incorporating a flexible magnetic sheet in a cylindrical frame of a magnetic material, injecting a solvent-resistant liquid plastic into the frame, and allowing said plastic to solidify. CONSTITUTION:A design roll 10, that is, a master pattern is made of wood, plaster, clay, plastic, metal, or the like, and a roll core 11 is put in the center of the roll 10. A relief on the surface of the roll 10 is formed by manual carving, photo etching or the like. Then the roll 10 is fixed in a mold 12 of wood or metal, and an epoxy resin, rubber or melted metal 13 is poured into the space between the roll and the mold and is allowed to solidify so that two concave molds 14a, 14b may be obtained. Then after the roll 10 is removed, the concave 14a, 14b are reunited, the roll core 11 is put in the center, and an uncured liquid rubber or resin 15 is poured in the space surrounding the roll core and is allowed to solidify. Thereafter the concave molds are removed so that a painting roll 16 capable of transferring a desired design can be obtained.

When decorating the surface of a building material with paint, after applying the paint, while the paint retains its fluidity, a roll-shaped or flat plate-shaped three-dimensional pattern forming tool is pressed onto the paint surface,
A method of finishing the painted surface in a three-dimensional pattern with undulations by applying 1ζIL is described in Japanese Patent Publication No. 54-8384 "Painting Roll" and Japanese Patent Publication No. 54-8384. -17774
It is already widely known from the publication ``Tool for forming a three-dimensional pattern on a painted surface and a method for forming a three-dimensional pattern on a painted surface using the same''. The roll-shaped pattern forming tool has 11 rolls.
It is advantageous over the flat type in that it is possible to apply patterns over a large area by moving it, and there is no limit to the size of the construction, and the present invention is aimed at improving roll-shaped pattern forming tools. It is being

The above-mentioned publication lists various types of surface designs for coatings, but if the surface design of building materials does not match the individual tastes of consumers, it will be difficult to develop or absorb water. There is. Therefore, the rolls used to form three-dimensional patterns must be sophisticated enough to produce a wide variety of patterns (even fine details and smooth curves), and must also be able to be manufactured quickly and inexpensively. In this respect, the conventional pattern-forming strip roll has several drawbacks. The conventional method of manufacturing the roll will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.

Next, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, after removing the original roll 10, the concave mold 14a'N 14'' is put together again, and the roll core 11 is inserted into the center, and the uncured material is filled in the space around the roll core. A liquid comb or resin 15 is poured in and assimilated. The concave mold is then removed, and a pattern forming roll 16 for painting onto which a desired design can be transferred is completed (FIG. 5).

Problems with the pattern forming roll in the prior art include the following. First, since the design roll 10 must be engraved or etched on its cylindrical surface, the material is preferably hard steel or wood, and the manufacturing process requires a lot of time and cost. It is a point. On the other hand, since the base surface of the construction is not necessarily flat, using a hard pattern-forming roll tends to cause uneven crimping, and excessive pressure may cause damage to the base. The rolls must be made of soft material. Thus, the man-hours required to make two rolls become essential.

Second, the uneven pattern on the roll surface will be transferred to the surface of the building material in an uneven or reversed state, so you must draw a negative image of the pattern you want to appear on the building surface on the design roll, with the pattern reversed. This is something that must be done. Especially when carving by hand, it is difficult to create minute patterns and it is not easy to draw natural curves. The etching method requires many steps and inevitably increases costs. Since the positions of the recesses on the design roll form the pattern, it is not possible to use a method that is simpler than engraving or etching, such as attaching a coating material to a cylindrical roll and creating a pattern. Since negative images were drawn directly onto the cylindrical roll, there were naturally restrictions on the pattern, making it difficult to design freely.

The above-mentioned object of the present invention is to place a flexible magnet sheet 1 on which an arbitrary convex pattern to be reproduced on the painted surface is placed inside a cylindrical mold frame made of magnetic material with the convex pattern as the inner surface. This is accomplished by using a convex-forming roll that is assembled into the cylindrical mold, and then injected and assimilated into the cylindrical mold to form a solvent-resistant liquid plastic.

That is, in the present invention, a desired convex pattern is formed on the surface of a flexible magnetic sheet (flat) without creating a cylindrical design roll. For this convex pattern, it is sufficient to create a positive image that is identical to the pattern to be reproduced on the surface of the painted material; there is no need to create a reversed negative image. If this magnetic screw l-sheet is assembled into a magnetic H-sized cylindrical frame with its convex pattern facing inside, the sheet) will become a circle "'i'j mouth'+" due to the action of the magnet. Closely facing each other to form a cylindrical space inside.

As explained in detail above, according to the present invention, there is no need for a cylindrical design roll, which greatly reduces the number of man-hours and costs, and it is possible to form a desired pattern directly on the surface of a flat sheet. Its effects are extremely remarkable, such as making it possible to create elaborate patterns including fine shapes and natural curves, and also making it possible to manufacture rolls for forming convex portions quickly and at low cost.
