Conventionally, prior to automating the sorting process, mail collected at each post office is automatically sorted and stacked based on the postal code written on the mail. As shown in FIG. 1, these sorted mail items are bundled with bands or strings after a paper tag indicating the destination etc. is attached to each bundle. Furthermore, bundled mail (hereinafter referred to as bundled mail) is

On the other hand, in recent years mail processing has been automated with the aim of improving efficiency and reducing the burden on workers. Automatic pick-up and sorting machine that automatically sorts and stacks mail items based on number and takes out the sorted mail pieces one by one onto a conveyor, and corresponds to postal code for mail items that are conveyed on the conveyor. A paper bill issuer that automatically prints and attaches information such as barcodes, an automatic bundler that automatically bundles bundles of mail with paper bills attached, and transports the bundled mail to a predetermined location. However, a system consisting of a bundle sorting machine and the like that visually reads paper bills on bundles of mail and sorts them for each delivery destination is about to be put into practical use.

Here, to explain the conventional bundling method in the self-excited bundling system, as shown in FIG.
A paper tag 12 on which a destination post office name, a postal code, a bar code corresponding to the postal code, etc. are printed is attached to the upper surface of the mail piece 11 before bundling. This mail 1
1 is a paper bill 12 using a known binding mechanism (not shown), which is a first band-shaped sheet 13 made of a heat-sealable transparent sheet.
It is bundled together with. Furthermore, this sheet 11 is made of the same material as the first belt-shaped sheet 13, and is a second belt-shaped sheet 1.
4, the first belt-shaped sheet 13 and the mail piece 1 are separated by a similar mechanism.
Loquats are tied in two places on the front and back of 2 so that they intersect with each other.

Furthermore, this l-shaped sheet 11 is attached to the surface of the attached paper bill 12 in order to prevent the paper bill from falling off due to loosening of the belt-shaped sheets (13 and 14), misalignment, etc., and the first and second belt-shaped sheets). 13. At the intersection position of 14, the paper bill 12 and the first,
Partial heat sealing is performed so that the second strip sheets 13 and 14 are welded and fixed to each other. Also, this bundled mail has the first and second marks on the side to which no paper bill is attached.
The belt-shaped sheets are fixed to each other by hot melting or the like at the intersecting positions of the belt-shaped sheets 13114.

As mentioned above, in the conventional bundling method, since the bundling is carried out using a strip of film from above the paper bills, the material of the film must be highly transparent so as not to interfere with the reading of the paper bills. At the same time, there is a need for a fixing method that does not hinder the reading of paper bills even when fixing the first and second strip films and paper bills.

In addition, since the line of the band-shaped film covers the surface of the paper bill in this bundled mail, there is a risk that the line of the band-shaped film may be turned over during transportation of the bundled mail, etc., which may interfere with the reading of the paper bill. It has its drawbacks.

Furthermore, if a method such as heat cooling or hot melting is used to fix the bundled mail at the intersection of the strip films, the melted film may adhere to the mail itself and stain it, making it difficult to control the melting temperature. This method has disadvantages in that it becomes complicated, the device becomes large-scale, and the thickness of the strip-shaped film used therein becomes thick.

In addition, when attaching paper tags to the stacked mail, it is difficult to attach paper tags to both the front and back sides of the stacked mail due to the bundling mechanism, and it is difficult to attach paper tags to both the front and back of the stacked mail. In such processing, it is necessary to check the front and back sides of the bundled mail and rearrange the orientation of the bundled mail so that the paper bills are aligned in the direction of the automatic reader.

According to the present invention, in a mail grouping method in which a plurality of mail items are grouped crosswise by first and second band sorting, and information regarding the mail items is displayed, A method for bundling postal items is obtained, which is characterized in that an adhesive label on which predetermined information is printed is attached to the intersecting position of the strip sheets so as to adhere to both the first and second strip sheets. It will be done.

FIG. 2 shows a mail bundling system according to the present invention on the two-stream side. In FIG. 2, the mail items 21 that have been sorted and accumulated are placed on a first belt-shaped sheet 25 made of a heat-fusible film and having a width that allows for a predetermined margin for the width of a label 27, which will be described later.
The mail items are bundled in the transverse direction by a known binding mechanism.

Father, this mail item 21 is made by using the same method as in the case of the first belt-like sheet to create a second belt-like sheet 26 made of a heat-fusible film having a width narrower than the width of the label 27, which will be described later. One piece of mail is lit in the longitudinal direction and bundled so that it intersects with the first strip sheet at two places on the front and back of the mail.

Further, the adhesive label 27 is an adhesive label on which the destination post office name, postal code, bar code for automatic reading, etc. regarding the bundled mail are printed, and the adhesive label 27 is an adhesive label on which the destination post office name, postal code, bar code for automatic reading, etc. are printed on the bundled mail.
Of course, at the intersection position of the first and second belt-shaped sheets (two places on the front and back), it straddles the second belt-shaped sheet 26 and adheres to the first belt-shaped sheet 25, and also protrudes from the first belt-shaped sheet 25. It is pasted like a mask.

Similarly, in this embodiment, as is clear from the above explanation, it is not necessarily necessary to print various information on the label on both surfaces, and for pasting the label, it is necessary to print only on one side and to print the strip on the opposite side. As for fixing the sheet, it is possible to use a simple adhesive tape or the like.

Furthermore, in this embodiment, bundled mail items with predetermined information displayed can be stably created using a simpler bundling mechanism compared to the conventional one.
Moreover, it is effective not only for processing mail but also for ordinary paper sheets or flat plate-shaped piles.

As explained above, the present invention affixes a label with predetermined information printed on its surface, so it is possible to eliminate the possibility of poor label reading due to the transparency of the strip film, the turning up of the green color of the film, etc. By displaying information on the front and back 2ifi of bundled mail, it is possible to greatly improve processing efficiency in subsequent sorting work.
