PURPOSE:To permit lateral adjustment of intermediate rolls during rolling by using one body type driving rolls for upper, lower central supporting rolls, and split type rolls for the other supporting rolls, forming tapered relief in the end parts on mutually the opposite sides of upper, lower intermediate rolls and making the same movable in their axial directions. CONSTITUTION:Two pieces of intermediate rolls 15, 16 are provided respectively behind a pair of work rolls 13, 14 of 12-stages rolling mills, and three pieces of supporting rolls 17, 18 are provided behind the rolls 15, 16. The upper, lower central supporting rolls 17a, 18a are supported respectively at two places by means of bearings 19, 20, and roll shafts 21, 22 are connected by means of couplings 23 to electric motor.
