第１セル群と第２セル群に２分割して該第１セル群の後
端開口部を密閉すると共に第２セル群の前端開口部を密
閉するようにした排気ガスフィルタにおいて、上記第１
セル群の前端開口部の開口面積を上記第２セル群の後端
開口部の開口面積よりも大きくすると共に該第１セル群
のセルピッチをほぼ１．０ｍ１ｒＬから２．５ｍｍの範
