Abstract

PURPOSE:To high accurately detect the rotary speed of an engine, by arranging vibrative root parts of plural vibrating elements with a different natural frequency in such a manner as to cross almost at a right angle with the reciprocating direction of a piston and displaying the rotary speed through point end display parts. CONSTITUTION:A speed indicator 7 is protrusively provided from a housing 8 through a seal plate 15 on a front surface 6 of a cowling 2 of an outboard engine, and mounted to a leg part 16 by stopping a stopper washer 17. Then vibrative root parts 12 of each vibrating element 11 are arranged crossing at an almost right angle with a reciprocating direction X of a piston 5, and display parts 13 are arranged crossing at an almost right angle with a visual direction Y. While adjusting parts 18 are flexibly formed to end parts of the display parts 13 of each vibrating element 11, and a length of said part 18 is extensibly and contractibly formed to change the natural frequency, then a resonance point with the graduation of the rotary speed can be adjusted. In this way, the rotary speed of an engine 3 can be correctly detected.

In general, outboard motors are easily installed and used in small boats, and are used in a variety of boats with different sizes, weights, and resistances.
It is said that it is possible to do so. Therefore, when outboard motors are used, several types of propellers are prepared for the same outboard motor, and the propeller 1 with the optimum size is selected depending on the boat to which the outboard motor is installed. This propeller selection is made based on the outboard engine rotational speed. In addition, propellers wear out with use, and the engine speed increases with use, which can cause damage to the outboard motor.
The engine speed should be checked regularly and the propeller replaced if necessary. Furthermore, if the engine rotation speed of the outboard motor can be known while the ship is sailing, it becomes possible to operate the ship with economical fuel consumption.

However, since normal small vessels generally do not have a fixed rotational speed needle, when selecting a propeller, the engine rotational speed is measured using a tachometer carried by a service person in each city, and the 1i positive propeller is I'f you are choosing? -It is impossible to select a propeller in an area where a bisman is not available, check all propeller replacement times under long-term use conditions, and detect the engine rotation speed while the ship is running to reduce fuel consumption.

As shown in FIGS. 3 to 5, the rotation speed meter 7 has a base 10 fixed in a housing 8 with set screws 9, and 11 vibrating pieces 11 (11A to 11K) are mounted on the base 10.
is held. The vibrating pieces 11 are arranged in parallel with each other and are given mutually different natural frequencies as described later, and are held on the base 10 and 7
1 has a vibrating base 12 which is opened and electrically installed in the housing 8, and a stone display part 13t formed at the tip of the vibrating base 12. ...The mouth of the Uzing 8 is covered with a display window 14 made of transparent resin, and the display window 14 and the display section 13 of each vibrating piece 11
□In the visual direction of the boat operator, place the vibration piece 1 on the left end of the front.
1A is strictly rated for its vibration base 12, 4000 RP
It is set to a natural frequency that resonates with the engine rotational speed of M, and the vibrating piece 11 on the front right end is removed, and each of the remaining nine vibrating pieces 11B to IIJ is oriented toward the right end side at their vibration base 12'. If the engine speed is between 5000 RPM and 5000 RPM, the resonance will be 5.
The natural frequency is set to resonate with the engine rotation speed of 000 RPM, and the vibrating pieces 11G to IIJ are set to a natural frequency of 5000 RPM.
Each is set to a natural frequency that resonates with the engine rotation speed between RPM and 600 ORPM. Further, among the vibrating pieces 11, the left group vibrating pieces 11A to 1
Each display section 13 of 1C is printed in yellow, and the vibrating element 1 of the center group
Each display 1i13t of 1D to 11H! Color coded blue;
Each display section 13 on the right side vibrating pieces 111 to 11 is colored red, and the left end vibrating piece 11A1 and the central vibrating piece 1 on the display plate 8A attached to the housing 8 are colored red.
In the parts corresponding to the 1F1 right end vibrating piece 11K,
Engine speeds of 4000RPM, 5000RPM, and 60ROPM are displayed. As a result, when the engine 3 is driven, the engine rotation speed can be detected by visually checking the vibrating element 11 that is in a resonant state.
It is possible to identify whether the engine rotational speed is within the normal rotational speed range by the difference in color.

Here, the upper rotational speed meter 7 is protruded from the housing 8 and inserted into the inside of the cowling 2 with a seal plate 15 interposed between the nozzle 8 and the front surface 6 of the cowling 2. By attaching locking washers 17 to the legs 16, it is possible to attach the cowling to the front surface 6 of the cowling 2. Under the above-mentioned mounting condition of the tachometer 1, as shown in FIG. are arranged substantially perpendicular to the viewing direction YK. Note that the adjustment portion 18 is bent and formed at the tip of the display l513 of each vibrating piece 11. By shortening the length of the adjusting section 18, it is possible to adjust the inertial mass of the vibrating element 11 and adjust the setting state WJk of the natural frequency.

According to the above embodiment, since the tachometer 7 is provided in the cowling 2, the engine rotation speed can be detected at any time if necessary, and the propeller can be appropriately selected and the propeller replacement timing can be determined appropriately. In addition to being able to know the current situation, it is also possible to operate a single ship with economical fuel efficiency. Here, the tachometer 11 - each vibrating piece 11 constituting the tachometer 11 -
Since the vibration base 12 of the piston 5 is disposed substantially orthogonally to the reciprocating direction It becomes possible to accurately detect the rotational speed. In addition, since the display section 13 of each vibrating piece 11 is bent so as to be arranged substantially orthogonally to the visual direction Y of the operator, the resonance state of the vibrating piece 11 can be reliably and easily recognized, and the engine 3 All rotational speeds can be easily detected.

As described above, the present invention includes a plurality of vibrating pieces having different natural vibration frequencies, and each vibrating piece has a vibrating base and an indicator formed at the tip of the vibrating base to express a rotational speed. The outboard motor is equipped with a cowling in front of the cowling housing the engine, and the vibration base of each vibrating piece is arranged approximately perpendicular to the reciprocating direction of the piston of the engine, so that each vibration This has the effect that the piece can resonate appropriately with the vibrations of the engine based on the reciprocating motion of the piston, and the rotational speed of the engine can be detected with high precision.
