Abstract

PURPOSE:To control the sucker of tobacco economically with reduced labor, by the synergistic effect of O-ethyl-O-(2-nitro-5-methylphenyl)-N-sec-butyl-phosphoroamide thionate and a vegetable oil. CONSTITUTION:O-Ethyl-O-(2-nitro-5-methylphenyl-N-sec-butylphosphoroamide thionate (Butamiphos) or formula is mixed with a vegetable oil and applied to tobacco plant. The controlling activity of both components can be increased and the application rate can be lowered by the synergistic effect of the components. Even an axillary bud grown to several cm can be killed, and the sprouting of the secondary and the tertiary bud can be completely suppressed even under rainy conditions, and accordingly, the lavor for the control of sucker can be remarkably reduced. The concentrations of both components at the application stage are 250-2,000ppm, especially 500-2,000ppm for Butamiphos and 0.5-10%, especially 1-5% for vegetable oil.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a method for preventing tobacco axillary buds, in which 0-ethyl-〇-(,2-nitro-j-methylphenyl 1-IJ-secondary-butylphosphoramide) represented by the following formula is used. It is characterized in that thionate is blended with vegetable oil and applied to tobacco plants.

The method of the present invention not only has the effect of simply increasing efficacy and reducing the amount of medicine, but also kills axillary buds that have grown several centimeters in length, and can also kill quaternary buds and tertiary buds without decreasing efficacy even in continuous rainy weather. Since it completely stops the occurrence of axillary buds, it has the effect of significantly reducing the labor involved in preventing axillary buds.

Tobacco cultivation involves fungal bed work, 1 tree field work, and post-harvest drying.
There are many tasks such as aM that require a lot of effort and time, but one of the tasks that puts pressure on the busy season is the removal of axillary buds near the settlement. This work is necessary in order to secure the storage area for the leaf tobacco, but if it were done by hand, it would be necessary to work around the axillary buds that emerge one after another within three days. For this reason, a method of spraying an axillary bud inhibitor has been developed and is becoming popular.

Currently in practical use in Japan →
-←i] Rumors - See - Tobacco axillary bud inhibitors are maleic acid hydrazide ethanolamine salt, maleic acid hydrazide potassium salt, maleic acid hydrazide choline salt, Problems with these cross-linking agents include: (1) the applied concentration is relatively high, which sometimes causes a deterioration in the quality of the tobacco, and (2) insufficient rain resistance, resulting in insufficient efficacy if rain continues. As a practical matter, the axillary bud development period of tobacco falls during the sea rain season, so it often continues for a long time, and for this reason, conventional axillary bud prevention agents lose their effectiveness due to lack of rain resistance, preventing the emergence of secondary and tertiary buds. Unable to contain it, I had to manually handle it. In addition, if it continues to rain during the axillary bud development period, the appropriate time for spraying will be missed because it will not be possible to spray the chemical, and the axillary buds will often have already grown several centimeters by the time they are sprayed. For this reason, there is a strong desire for an axillary bud inhibitor that has excellent rain resistance and can selectively kill already elongated axillary buds without adversely affecting adult leaves.

The present inventors have been engaged in research to meet such demands, and found that 0-ethyl-o-t! -Dihydro-5-methylphenyl 111-secondary-butylphosphoroamidothionate (hereinafter referred to as butamiphos)
It was discovered that when applying plant I oil to tobacco plants, which were self-combined, a surprising cooperative effect was produced, and the suitability of the plant for that purpose was confirmed. As a result, the present invention was achieved.

It is clear that Butamiphos is effective in preventing tobacco axillary buds! ; is known from Publication No. 3-729gθ. As described in the above publication, butamiphos is applied at a concentration of S to tobacco axillary buds grown in pots under no rainfall conditions.
Spraying a low-concentration water dilution of θθpptn shows the effect of inhibiting the growth of flat axillary buds. However, when tested to prevent axillary buds of tobacco planted in fields under rainy conditions conducted by ordinary noblemen, high concentrations of Jθθ~3θθθppm were observed. Some effects on axillary buds in the early stages of development are observed under certain concentration conditions, but 3-
It is not effective against axillary buds that have grown into Aryn, and its efficacy is considerably reduced by rainfall immediately after spraying.

According to this report, it was effective to make a 69% emulsion of rapeseed oil, dilute the original solution three times as much, and apply it to the axillary buds of tobacco. It is not a liquid, but seems to have been forgotten with the advent of maleic acid hydrazide salts.According to the inventors' experimental studies, it is highly effective when diluting a vegetable oil emulsion with water and spraying it. However, when diluted to an oil/θ ratio, the axillary bud prevention effect was extremely low.

However, according to the present invention, when a butamiphos solution with a concentration that does not have a practical effect as a tobacco axillary bud preventive agent alone is mixed with Shun vegetable oil, which exhibits almost no axillary bud preventive effect, and is applied, a surprising cooperative effect is exhibited. It not only prevents the elongation of early axillary buds (<71), but also kills axillary buds that have already elongated, greatly improves rain resistance, and completely or almost completely inhibits the development of primary and tertiary buds. On the other hand, it is possible to create vCdP
No industrial damage was observed.

When applying a butamiphosium vegetable oil mixture to tobacco plants, the method usually used is to spray it on the axillary bud formation site.
Of course, it can also be applied by coating. Generally, the axillary bud prevention effect is expressed as the inhibition rate against the amount of axillary bud elongation of untreated plants, and in practical terms, the level of 93°F or below is 1. This level can be easily exceeded by using a butamiphos solution at a low concentration, and practically it is almost completely effective in inhibiting axillary buds.
