本発明者等は、この課題を解決するために、植物ホルモンを用いて花芽の分化を抑制し、雄花の着生を少なくして花粉の飛散量を著しく減少できるのではないかと考え鋭意研究を重ねた結果、特定の植物ホルモン、とりわけ、オーキシン活性のあるエチクロゼート及び/若しくはその塩を杉及び/又は桧に施すことにより、両者の雄花芽の形成を抑制できることを見出し、本発明を完成するに至った。

【発明の実施の形態】
本発明に係る有効成分のエチクロゼートは、1972年に日本で農薬登録された植物生長調整剤である。

本発明の花芽分化抑制用組成物は、庭園、公園、山林、ゴルフ場等の色々な場所で使用することができる。

エチル 5−クロロ−3(1H)−インダゾリルアセテートの塩としては、塩酸塩、硫酸塩、硝酸塩等、有機酸塩、メタンスルホン酸塩、アルキル・ベンゼンスルホン酸塩等が挙げられる。

本発明で使用する植物ホルモンとしては、エチル 5−クロロ−3(1H)−インダゾリルアセテート及び/若しくはその塩が最適であり、それ以外に、インドール酪酸、クロキシホナック、4−CPA,ジクロルプロップ、ジベレリン、ダミノジッド、トリネキサパックエチル、ベンジルアミノプリン又はその塩が挙げられる。これらの植物ホルモンは、2種以上のものを併用することができ、その場合には、植物生長調整剤としての常用濃度又はそれ以下の濃度で2種以上の有効成分を混合して又は2種以上の有効成分を交互に、散布等により施す。
