Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the strength of weld and to connect the titled sheets to each other to a uniform thickness by a method wherein the plastic sheets to be connected are butted against each other and the butted part and therearound are heated and pressed through top and bottom forces to thereby weld the plastic sheets to each other. CONSTITUTION:The top force 2 in the form of a single push plate, the bottom force 3 formed of a stationary member 31 and a movable member 32 operative through a spring 4 are used for connecting the plastic sheets. With the use of the above elements, the heated sections (to be softened and fused) of the plastic sheets 1 are pressed in a safety sealed condition brought about by the side wall 10 of the bottom force 3 and the walls of the non-heated parts of the sheets, so that a component force generates in the direction of the thickness of the connecting part and the sheets are welded without varying the thicknesses thereof.

For example, interlayer insulating plates for conductors such as bus bars in electrical branch junction boxes and the like are manufactured from plastic sheets by processing terminal holes and the like and cutting them. When automating work in such cases, there is a desire to connect single length plastic sheets because the work efficiency will be improved by 1 if longer lengths of plastic sheets can be obtained.

In view of the above-mentioned problems, the present invention provides a method that enables a connection with strong welding strength and uniform thickness. The present invention will be explained in detail below with reference to the drawings as an example, but is not limited thereto. .

FIG. 2 shows a diagram of the principle of the present invention. In the figure, (2) is the upper die and one presser plate. (3) is the lower mold, which is made up of a fixed part (31) in the center and movable members (62) on both ends.
It is composed of (4) is a spring for making the movable member (32) movable.

The abutting parts of the plastic sheets (1) that are arranged in this way and the parts that are to be connected by the lower molds are heated and pressurized to be welded. In the part (softened, molten body part), pressure is applied in a completely sealed state by the side wall (10) of the mold and the wall of the unheated part of the plastic of the plastic sheet, so a component force acts in the direction of thickness connection, causing a change in thickness. Adhesion is made with little to no adhesion.

上記に於いて下型の可動部を設けた理由は下記にある。The reason for providing the movable part of the lower mold in the above is as follows.

■ 左右シート厚ばらつきを吸収する為■ 前記溶着部

■ To absorb the variation in the thickness of the left and right sheets ■ To keep the welded part in a sealed state and obtain a component force in the thickness direction ■ To uniformly heat the front and back sides of the sheet (because the movable part rises during heating and lifts the sheet above the fixed part) Heating is done by a heater,
This is done using ultrasonic waves, high frequency dielectric heating, etc.

Specific examples of the present invention will be described below. As shown in FIG. 3, first, a plastic sheet, such as a polypropylene (talc-containing) sheet (1), is set against the movable part (32) of the lower die and is held down with a clamp (5).

Next, the heater (6) and the presser foot (7) are moved back and pressure is applied by the upper mold, that is, the presser plate (2) (for about 5 seconds). In this case, the surfaces of the fixed part and the movable part of the lower mold are as shown in Figure (b).
