Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the reliability for system fault display when a controlling device detects the fault of a path including a bus by preparing a path directly transmitting the fault status of said path to a system display part. CONSTITUTION:A main controlling device 2 is provided with an FF group 8 controlling a bus fault indicating lamp 11 and an indicating lamp 12 for maintenance signal distributing device faults both of which are provided to a system display part 5 directly through paths 9, 10. When the generation of a fault on a bus 3 is discriminated, the device 2 sets up a bus fault FF in the FF group 8 and lights up the indicating lamp 11 in the display part 5. When the generation of a fault in the maintenance signal distributing device is discriminated, the device 2 sets up its corresponding FF in the FF group 8 and lights up the indicating lamp 12 in the display part 5 through the path 10. Consequently fault display for the information processing system is further completed and its reliability is improved.

FIG. 1 shows, as an example of a conventional fault display method, a fault display method used in electronic exchanges. 1st
At M, a plurality of switch modules 1 that accommodate communication lines such as subscriber lines in a distributed manner and a main control device 2 that centrally manages these switch modules 1 are interconnected via a path 3.・The main controller 2 transmits a command to the managed switch module 1 to execute the required operation via the path 3, and receives operation completion information returned by the switch module 1 that has completed the required operation. By receiving the command, the main controller 2 confirms the completion of the required operation. If operation completion information is not returned from the switch module 1 that sent the command, the main controller Determines that an island IK failure has occurred, and transmits failure information regarding the affected switch island 1 to the maintenance signal distribution device 4 connected to the path 3.
Based on the fault information received from the four maintenance signal distribution equipment companies, the fault indicator light installed in the system display unit 5 is ignited,
It also notifies maintenance personnel of the failure by activating an audible alarm. It also causes the typewriter device 7 connected to the path 3 via the input/output control device 6 to output a message indicating the failure situation. Furthermore, no matter which switch module 1 the command is transmitted to, if predetermined operation completion information is not returned, the main controller 2 determines that a failure has occurred in the bus 3. In this case, the main control device 2 cannot transmit fault information to the maintenance signal distribution device 4, nor can it transmit a message indicating the fault status to the typewriter device 7. Even if the power path 3 is normal, if the maintenance signal distribution device 4 is affected, the display on the system display unit 5 and the audible alarm based on the failure transmitted by the main control device 2 will be impossible. Become.

As is clear from the above explanation, in the conventional fault display method, when at least one of the bus 3 and the maintenance signal distribution device 4 is affected, the main controller 2 displays the fault on the system display section 5. I couldn't get it to run.

In order to prevent such a situation from occurring as much as possible, attempts have been made to duplicate the bus 3 and the maintenance signal distribution device 4 to reduce the risk of failure as much as possible. Since there is a possibility that any of the signal distribution devices 4 may be affected, there still exists a phenomenon in which the system display unit 5 cannot display a fault.

It is an object of the present invention to eliminate the drawbacks of the conventional fault display methods as described above, and to display the system display even if a fault occurs in any of the paths for transmitting fault information from the main controller to the system display. The purpose of this is to realize a means for displaying faults by connecting a control device and a controlled device via a bus, and transmitting fault information of the controlled device detected by the control device to a route including the bus. In the information processing system, when the control device detects a fault in a route including the bus, the system display unit displays a fault status of the route. An embodiment of the present invention will now be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 2 is a diagram showing a fault display method according to an embodiment of the present invention. Note that the same reference numerals indicate the same objects throughout the figures. In FIG. A group of flip-flops 8 is provided which can be controlled via direct paths 9 and 10. Through the above-described process, the main controller 2 determines that a fault has occurred in the bus 3, and sets the fault-responsive flip-flop of the flip-flop group 8. The bus failure indicator light 11 of the system display unit 5 is turned on via the direct path 9. Furthermore, the main controller 2, which has determined that a failure has occurred in the maintenance signal distribution device 4, outputs the maintenance signal of the flip-flop group 8. The two flip-flora companies set to 0 set the distribution device failure response tab 70, and the maintenance signal distribution device failure indicator light 12 of the system display unit 5 is turned on via the direct route 10.

Note that Figure 2 is only one embodiment of the present invention; for example, the path through which the main controller 2 transmits fault information to the system display unit 5 includes a maintenance signal distribution device 4 in addition to the bus 3. Although the present invention is not limited to this and many other changes may be considered, the effects of the present invention remain the same in any case. Furthermore, the configuration of the electronic exchange to which the present invention is applied is not limited to that shown in the drawings, and many other modifications may be considered; however, the effects of the present invention will remain the same in any case. 0 Furthermore, it goes without saying that the information processing system to which the present invention is applied is not limited to electronic exchanges.0 According to the present invention, in the information thermal system, the control device displays failure information on the system display section. Even if a failure occurs in a route including a bus that transmits the information, the control device uses the direct route provided between it and the system display unit to display the failure status that has occurred on the route on the system display unit. By making it possible to communicate this information, the information processing system's fault display will be further enhanced and its reliability will be improved.
