Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable paper sheets to be reliably fed one by one and to ease changing paper sheets by utilizing flexure of paper and frictional force by rolls and a belt in a cut paper feeding equipment to be used for a printer, etc. CONSTITUTION:When a pick-up roll 14 is turned in the direction as shown by an arrow, paper forms catenary near corner pawls 15 at both ends of the front edge, soon it comes off the corner pawls 15 and moves ahead. In this occasion, one sheet of the paper is separated. In case where separation of paper sheets by the corner pawls 15 and the pick-up corner 14 results in a failure, they are advanced in between a separator roll 17 and a reverse belt 18 in the condition that several sheets of the paper are piled up, they are separated to be one sheet by frictional force of the both 17, 18 which move in the reverse direction, and one sheet of the paper which has been separated is fed to the subsequent step by the action of the separator roll 17 which has larger frictional force.

As paper feeding devices for cut paper used in printing devices, those that utilize vacuum suction are indispensable because they require a device to generate a vacuum and have problems such as being noisy. These methods are broadly divided into two types: those that use frictional force to separate one sheet of paper, and those that separate one sheet of paper by forcibly bending the paper.

FIG. 1 shows an example of a cut paper feeding device disclosed in Japanese Patent Publication No. 52-11823, which uses frictional force to separate one sheet. After the cut paper stacked on the tray 1 is taken out from the top by the sheet separation belt 2, it enters between the throat 3 and the sheet separation belt 2,
A moving sheet separation belt 2 and a fixed throat 3
The sheet is separated into one sheet by receiving frictional forces in opposite directions on the upper and lower surfaces, and is supplied to a subsequent process. FIG. 2 is a diagram showing a situation in which the above-mentioned sheet feeding device is actually operating, and there are several sheets of paper cut between the throat 3 and the sheet separation belt 2.
The paper is entering, and the uppermost cut paper 4, which has been separated into single sheets, is supplied to the subsequent process. A cut sheet feeding device that uses such frictional force to separate one sheet has a high reliability when separating one sheet (in the above example, between the sheet separation belt 2 and the throat 3). Since several sheets of paper are inserted, each time the type of paper is changed, it is necessary to remove each piece of paper that is stuck in this area.

FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of a cut paper feeding device developed in Japanese Patent Publication No. 54-425DB7, which is an example of a system in which sheets are separated by forcibly bending the paper. 11
! ! The cut sheets stacked on the placement plate 7 are taken out from the top by the paper feed roller 5, and a pair of corner claws 9 are provided at the top of both front edges of the stacked cut sheets to press the corners of the cut sheets. The paper that receives the conveyance force of the paper feed roller 5 is pressed by the corner claws 9 and bends, and eventually, when it exceeds the range that the corner claws 9 can hold, one separated sheet of paper advances from the cassette 12 and is fed. It is fed to the downstream process by rollers 10.11. FIG. 4 is a sketch showing the mutual positional relationship between the mounting plate 7 and the pair of corner claws 9 in the above-mentioned paper feeding device. In this way, with a cut paper feeding device that feeds one sheet of paper by forcibly bending the paper, the paper is already separated into one sheet when it comes out of the cassette, so it is not necessary to replace the entire cassette. This method has the advantage that it is easy to change the type of paper, but compared to the method described above that separates one sheet using frictional force, the reliability of single sheet separation is lower, and there is a possibility that multiple sheets of paper may overlap. The phenomenon that the raw material is supplied to the subsequent process in a state that is still present often occurs.

Cut sheets are stacked inside the cassette 13,
The cut paper is pushed upward by a pushing means (not shown). A pickup roller 14 is in contact with the upper surface of the cut paper, and corner claws 15 are provided at both front ends of the cut paper. Pick up roller 1
4 rotates in the direction of the arrow in the figure, the paper forms slack near the corner claws 15 at both ends of the leading edge, and eventually comes off the corner claws 15 and advances. At this time, one sheet of paper is separated.

A jaw 16 is provided on the continuous conveyance path, and a separator roller 17 is provided on the upper side and a Hariverse belt 18 is provided on the lower side. Guide plates 19 are provided on the upper and lower surfaces of the conveyance path.
, 20, to restrain the paper being conveyed. The paper sheet advances from the cassette 13 and enters between the separator roller 17 and the reverse belt 18. The separator roller 17 rotates in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure to advance the paper.

On the other hand, the reverse spell 18 is moving at low speed in the direction of the arrow in the figure. Therefore, although the paper receives frictional forces in opposite directions on its upper and lower surfaces, the frictional force received from the separator roller 17 is greater, so that it is conveyed in the advancing direction. If the sheet separation process performed by the corner pawl 15 and the pickup roller 14 fails, the separator roller 17
The paper enters between the paper and the reverse belt 18, and the paper is separated into one sheet by the separation effect due to frictional force and is supplied to a subsequent process. However, the situation in which several sheets of paper enter in a stacked state only occurs when separation of one sheet by the corner claw 15 and pickup roller 14 fails, and when this situation occurs, the type of paper is just replaced. This is not a particular problem unless you are doing it, so the operability when replacing paper is greatly improved. In addition, in this embodiment, the reverse belt 1
Since the reverse belt 8 moves at a low speed, the portion that contacts the separator roller 17 and the paper constantly changes, and the amount of wear on the reverse belt 17 decreases and becomes uniform.

The most widely used mechanism for separating sheets by forcibly bending the paper is one that uses corner claws, but there are also other mechanisms that first feed the paper in the opposite direction and then separate the paper from the trailing edge. There are methods in which the paper is moved forward after creating a deflection in the paper, and methods in which the paper is deflected in the center. In addition, as a mechanism for separating one sheet of paper using frictional force,
In addition to the combination of the separator roller 17 and the reverse belt 18, there are also combinations in which the rotating direction and arrangement of the belt and rollers are reversed from the embodiment shown in FIG. There are some that use pieces. The present invention is applicable to all these combinations.

As described in detail above, according to the present invention, the reliability of single-sheet feeding can be ensured in a cut-sheet feeding device, and the paper changing operation is also facilitated.
