PURPOSE:To provide a heat recovering device which decreases electric power consumption, by absorbing the heat of fixed paper which goes out on a paper outlet side of a fixing device and radiating and transmitting said heat to the cold unfixed paper which goes into the developing device on a paper inlet side. CONSTITUTION:Paper 4 is fed on a heat radiating roll 7, is heated and pressurized by a fixing roll 1 and a backup roll 2, and arrives at endthermic rolls 6. The paper heated to 140-170 deg.C with the roll 1 passes between the rolls 6 and part of the heat thereof is transmitted via the heat absorbing rolls to heat transmitting pipes 5 of heating pipes. The pipes 5 transmit the heat to a radiator 8 and the roll 7 so that the radiator and the roll preheat the paper 4 to be fed next by radiation, conduction and convection. Radiators of the constitution similar to that of the radiator 8 are also usable in lieu of the rolls 6.
