Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption and to make maintenance easy, by disposing optical fibers opposing to the transparent dots forming display numerals provided to an opaque board and providing optical switches on the way of optical fibers and a light source and a reflecting body at the other end of said fibers. CONSTITUTION:An opaque front board 1 of a display device TD is formed by dot groups A, B and a dot group C expressing M (meter), and optical fibers 3-1-3-n are provided opposing to there transparent dots 2, and optical switches 8-1-8-n which are controlled selectively by a controlling circuit 9 are disposed on the way of the optical fibers and a light source 5 and a reflecting body 6 are provided to the other end of said fibers. The optical switches 8-1-8-n are controlled selectively by a wind speed measuring signal which generates from a wind speed meter 10 and the wind speed is displayed as e.g. 07M (as shown black dots).
