Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled pad excellent in appearance whose assembling operation is facilitated and skin end is prevented from being broken, by molding a skin by vacuum molding molds, and eliminating skins that occur at the skin ends by a heat press step. CONSTITUTION:The skin 12 is vacuum molded by the vacuum molding molds, and a raw liquid of a foamable synthetic resin is cast to the undersurface of the skin 12, and is foamed and cured to mold the foamed pad 14 integrated with the skin including a foamed body 14. Then the foamed pad 14 integrated with the skin is inserted in a heating press apparatus so that the skins 18 that have occurred at the skin ends 15 are ends 15 are shrunk by heating in the heating press step to form flattened skin ends 15. It may be preferred, in said heating press step, to cut the skin ends into a desired shape.

However, when forming various patterns on the surface of the epidermis 2, tensile forces are applied to the skin end 5 of the conventional skin-integrated foam pad 4 from various directions, and wrinkles 8 are likely to occur. Many wrinkles 8 occur at the declination part of the seat frame 4, and these wrinkles 8 get in the way when the skin terminal 5 is fastened to the seat frame 6 with the clip 7, making the assembly work complicated, and the part where the clip 7 is fastened may be damaged. This easily spoils the appearance of the seat, and there is a risk that the skin 2 may be damaged from the wrinkles 8.

First, the skin 12 is vacuum-formed using a vacuum mold, and the skin 12 is vacuum-formed using a vacuum mold.
A skin-integrated foam pad 14 similar to that shown in FIG. 1 is obtained, comprising a foam 13 formed by injecting a stock solution of a foamed synthetic resin into the back side of the pad 2 and foaming and curing it. Next, this skin-integrated foam pad 14 is inserted into a heat press device (not shown), and the wrinkles 1.8 that have occurred on the skin ends 15 are heated and compressed in a heat press process, as shown in FIG. 3. A flat epidermal terminal 15 is formed.
