Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a resin compsn. which has excellent durability and a well- balanced property between adherability to laver and release properties in the production of plain laver, consisting of a thermoplastic resin less affinitive with laver and an ionic copolymer. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic resin less affinitive with laver, an ionic copolymer and, if necessary, additives such as an inorg. filler, etc. are mixed together. The preferred mixing ratio of said thermoplastic resin to said copolymer is 99.5-40:0.5-60. Examples of said additives are pigment, cellulose, plasticizer, weather resistance improver, etc. in addition to the inorg. filler. The inorg. filler is used in an amount of 1-50pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. mixture of the thermoplastic resin and the ionic copolymer. Examples of said thermoplstic resins are polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, polystyrene and ABS resin.

However, method (1) above is not preferred because it is difficult to control the treatment conditions and the adhesion of seaweed decreases due to changes over time. Method (2) has the disadvantage that the coated thin film is brittle and has poor durability, or that although it has good durability, the adhesion of seaweed is too strong over time.

If it is less than the weight, the adhesion of the obtained seaweed cage to the seaweed will decrease, which is not preferable. On the other hand, if the weight exceeds 60, the rigidity of the seaweed cage will be insufficient, and the adhesion of the seaweed will become too loose, resulting in tearing when peeling the dried seaweed, which is not preferable.

The resin composition thus obtained is subjected to paper molding using an appropriate molding method. For example, injection molding or compression molding is suitable for integrally molding a seaweed cage, and the cross-sectional shape of the sheet, solid or hollow, is circular cedar, oval, polygonal (triangle, square, star shape), etc. Extrusion molding is suitable for molding the rod body. In the latter case, the obtained higo bodies are assembled to form a seaweed cage. Particularly for ultra-hard seaweed, known surface treatment means such as corona discharge treatment can be applied to the surface of the seaweed cage if necessary.

The seaweed cage produced from the resin composition of the present invention has a good balance between adhesion and removability with seaweed, and the sustainability of this balance performance is extremely long. In addition, one of the features is that the production efficiency is high because almost no secondary treatment is required for the seaweed cage. Additionally, solvents are used in the production of seaweed cages.
