Conventionally, backing cases are used to transport and store finished cathode ray tube products, but the shape of cathode ray tubes makes it difficult to package them, so corrugated paper, etc. is assembled inside the backing case to prevent them from shaking as much as possible. It was packaged as such.

However, the above-mentioned packaging is very troublesome, and because it is difficult to follow the cathode ray tube and lacks stability, the cathode ray tube has the disadvantage that it is easily damaged by shaking due to vibrations during transportation or other handling.

Therefore, in this invention, the above-mentioned conventional drawbacks and inconveniences are solved to obtain a packaging body suitable for CRT packaging. The structure is made of a substantially flat plate of synthetic resin with a thickness equal to or less than the height of the CRT. It consists of a symmetrical set of upper and lower packaging bodies made of shaped foam, and each packaging body has a recess that can accommodate at least the main body of a cathode ray tube, and the overall external shape has a chevron-shaped top. When arranged side by side in a staggered manner, it forms a pentagonal shape that can be matched with each other, and reinforcing protrusions are provided on the left and right sides of the center of the back of the recessed portion for butting against the packaging body that comes behind, and the upper and lower When the cathode ray tube is sandwiched between the packages, the reinforcing protrusions abut each other from above and below, and the other parts form gaps between the packages.

Reference numeral 1 denotes a cathode ray tube packaging made entirely of synthetic resin foam, such as expanded polystyrene, and having a thickness equal to or less than the height of the cathode ray tube divided by the thickness of the cathode ray tube. The upper and lower parts are combined into a set and the cathode ray tube 10 is sandwiched between them.

Reference numeral 4 denotes reinforcing protrusions for abutment provided at left and right positions from the rear center of the recessed part 2, and has a shape that allows them to be placed back to back with the packaging bodies arranged in a staggered position behind the recessed part 2. When the cathode ray tube 10 is sandwiched between the upper and lower packages 1, 1, these reinforcing protrusions 4 abut each other from above and below, so that a gap can be formed between the other parts of the packages 1, 1. I have to.

Note that 5 and 5' in the figure are holes formed in the bottom surface of the recess 2, and the main body 11 of the cathode ray tube 10 accommodated in the recess 2.
This is to create a space between the cathode ray tube and the main body, and is suitable for escaping the air that is pressed when the cathode ray tube is stored. In addition, when the cathode ray tube is stored in the outer box 20 such as a backing case, external shocks can pass through the package 1 to the main body. 11 is removed by the space and is reduced, further improving the buffering effect.

The synthetic resin foam forming the above package 1 includes:
In addition to foamed polystyrene, polyolefin resins such as ethylene homopolymer, ethylene copolymer such as ethylene-vinyl acetate, propylene homopolymer, or foamed particles in which at least a portion of polyolefin resin and polystyrene resin are graft-bonded For example, foamed particles made by heating and expanding polyethylene particles by absorbing styrene monomer into the core and polymerizing the styrene monomer within the core, then heating the foamed particles graft-bonded to polyethylene and further adding a blowing agent. A foamed material obtained by expanding and fusing the particles to each other is preferable because of its low degree of creep deformation due to loading and high impact absorption properties.

Regarding the use of the above-mentioned cathode ray tube packaging according to this invention, at least two symmetrical upper and lower pieces are used as a set, and each packaging body 1 has a recessed part 2, which is a shape, between the upper and lower sides. At least the main body 11 of the cathode ray tube 10 is fitted and housed in the recesses 2, 2 so as to face each other,
It is packaged with the cathode ray tube 10 sandwiched between the recesses 2, 2, and the reinforcing protrusions 4, 4 of each package 1 abut each other from above and below, and the other parts are sandwiched between the packages 1, 1. Since a gap can be formed, the direct transmission of external shock to the cathode ray tube 10 is alleviated, improving the cushioning properties, and the cathode ray tube can be easily held and stored in an outer box such as a backing case with high stability.

Moreover, not only the above-mentioned gap when sandwiched, but also the symmetrical pair of upper and lower packaging bodies have a substantially flat plate shape with a thickness equal to or less than the thickness of a cathode ray tube, which contributes to even lighter packaging.

Furthermore, in this invention, the entire outer shape of the package 1 has a chevron-shaped top 3 and a pentagonal shape that can be matched when arranged in a staggered manner.
As shown in the figure (Fig. 7), a plurality of packages can be used side by side to form a set arranged in a staggered manner. It will be arranged differently.

In each case, 30 cushioning materials made of synthetic resin were used to accommodate the shape of empty areas such as corners so that the collective packaging form was arranged in a rectangular shape in order to improve packing in the outer box such as a backing case. A preferred example of use would be to fill it with material.

In any case of group packaging as described in 5, a small amount of space can be used effectively, and it is useful for reducing the packaging space to be stored in the outer box 20 such as a backing case.

The use of the cathode ray tube packaging according to this invention as described above is suitable for both individual packaging and collective packaging, and in both cases, it prevents the cathode ray tube from shaking during transportation and other handling. It is packaged in a state suitable for carrying out the packing, and combined with the cushioning properties unique to synthetic resin foam, it can exhibit excellent practical effects such as being suitable for preventing damage to cathode ray tubes to be packaged.
