[Detailed description of the invention] This invention relates to filling materials used as stuffing for pillows, cushions, quilted clothing, etc., and uses synthetic fiber multifilament mixed with natural fibers of appropriate fiber length.
The natural fibers are wound one or more times into an appropriate shape such as a round shape or a flower shape, and the intersecting points of the wound fibers are joined, and the winding shape such as the round shape or flower shape is fixed as it is, and the fiber ends of the natural fibers are It is characterized by branching out from a bundle of filaments.

Nowadays, natural feathers, which are mainly made from waterfowl feathers, have become widely used as stuffing for clothing and bedding, and it is expected that production will not be able to keep up with the increase in usage, so it is necessary to develop artificial feathers to replace natural feathers. is also becoming popular.

In Figure 1, reference numeral 1 refers to the cotton of the present invention, which is made by mixing synthetic fiber multifilament 2 such as polyester fiber, nylon fiber, or polyacrylonitrile fiber with natural fiber 3 such as wool fiber, silk fiber, cotton fiber, or hemp fiber. It is desirable to use fibers with a high Young's modulus in order to prevent the occurrence of sagging phenomenon. An emulsion of tetrafluoroethylene resin, an aqueous solution of organosopolysiloxane having an isocyanate group, and a silicone resin whose main components are dimethylpolysiloxane were used as smoothing materials, and these were attached to material 1 to give a coefficient of dynamic friction of 0.10. It is preferable to set it to about 0.20 to 0.20.

Furthermore, by using crimped synthetic fibers, we aim for appropriate intertwining with the mixed natural fibers, and aim for appropriate fluffing due to the natural fibers, creating a shape-retaining effect that cannot be achieved with synthetic fibers alone. It is desirable to strive to improve this.

Although the synthetic fibers may have a circular cross-sectional shape, it is more convenient to use fibers with irregular cross-sections in view of improving bulkiness.

A mixed aggregate of the synthetic fiber multifilament 2 and the natural fiber 3 as described above is shaped into a droplet shape, round shape, double leaf shape, trefoil shape, quatrefoil shape, or flower shape as shown in the drawing.
The fibers are wound one or more times to a size of about 1 to 5 cm, and the intersection points 4 of the wound fibers are joined by heat fusion or adhesive to fix the above-mentioned wound shape.

The filling material of the present invention made in this manner has extremely high compressive elasticity and never causes the phenomenon of sagging because the wound fibers are fixed at the intersection point 4 and the wound shape is fixed. In particular, since the material 1 is an aggregate of synthetic fibers 2 and natural fibers 3, its hygroscopicity is enhanced.

Further, since wool fibers, cotton fibers, etc. have shorter fiber lengths than synthetic fiber filaments, silk fibers, hemp fibers, etc., the fiber ends 5 are often located between fixed points.

At this time, the natural fiber whose fiber end 5 is located between the fixed points has a fluffy state in which the end is made from a bundle of filaments and has undulating peaks, which prevents the fiber from moving more than necessary and has a shape-retaining effect. It is high, and also has a moderate amount of fluff.
Many voids are created between the material fibers to improve heat retention.

Therefore, when the filling material of the present invention is used as stuffing for clothing or bedding, it is highly hygroscopic, has excellent air retention properties, and always has shape retention that can withstand pressure from any direction. Moreover, the ease of filling work can be improved, and the number of times the same work must be performed can be significantly reduced.
