DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a chain tensioner or other sliding type chain guide used in a state of being pressed against the chain in a power transmission mechanism using a chain of an internal combustion engine, and constitutes a part of the chain guide. It is an object of the present invention to provide a chain guide having a structure that improves the wear resistance of the elastic member that contacts the chain and prevents the elastic member from peeling off from the plywood.

In conventional chain guides, the elastic member (rubber material) was attached to the plywood surface in a state where no load was applied to the plywood, that is, the base plate was kept in a straight state, and the elastic member was integrally attached to the surface. .

However, when used in an internal combustion engine, the shape of the baseplate is bent more than when manufacturing the chain guide, so tensile stress is constantly applied to the surface of the elastic member, which causes the tension between the baseplate and the elastic member to deteriorate. The members peeled off, and the wear resistance of the elastic members was poor.

This is because: ■ Since the elastic member is used in a flexed state, small scratches on the surface of the elastic member tend to grow and become larger due to the tensile stress; ■ The base plate and the elastic member are moved away from each other This is due to the fact that a force is applied, and (2) the internal structure of the elastic member is always kept in a rough state.

However, in the present invention, a band-shaped metal plywood is bent more than the shape when in use, and a band-shaped elastic member is integrally attached to the surface of the plywood in this state, so that the surface of the elastic member is bent when in use. Compressive stress is always applied to the plywood and the elastic member is applied in the direction of adhesion to each other, which improves the wear resistance of the elastic member and prevents the elastic member from peeling off. .

Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described based on the drawings. The chain guide A is composed of a base plate 1 and an elastic member 2 integrally attached to the surface of the base plate 1. The base plate 1 is made of a flat metal plate. The base plate 1 is formed into a band shape with a square cross section, and the base plate 1 is bent more than the shape in use, and the elastic member 2 is integrally attached to the surface of the plywood 1 in this state.

The elastic member 2 is a rubber material 2-1 (for example, beech-based nitrile rubber) alone, a synthetic resin material, or a surface of the rubber material 2-1 (i.e., the surface in contact with the chain) made of tetrafluoroethylene, which has excellent wear resistance. It is optional to use a laminated structure in which the materials 2-2 are integrally bonded.

As a means of integrally attaching the elastic member 2 to the base plate 1 as described above, the rubber material 2-1 is molded to fit the curved shape of the base plate 1 which is already bent, and then the elastic member 2 is integrally attached with an adhesive or the like. Either method is possible, such as adhesively bonding the base plate 1 to the base plate 1, or injecting molten rubber into a mold in which the base plate 1 is set in a curved shape, cooling and solidifying the elastic member 2, and attaching the elastic member 2 to the surface of the base plate 1 by vulcanization. be.

Since the present invention is constructed as described above, compressive stress is always applied to the surface of the elastic member, and the internal structure of the elastic member is always maintained in a dense state.

Therefore, even if a small scratch occurs on the surface of the elastic member, it will not become any larger, completely preventing cracks and damage, and due to the action of compressive stress and the dense internal structure, the wear caused by contact with the chain will be reduced. is small and can improve wear resistance.

Furthermore, since force acts in the direction of adhering the elastic member and the plywood to each other, it is possible to reliably prevent the elastic member from peeling off from the plywood.
