DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention uses a plurality of transmitted-light type smoke detectors each consisting of a pair of emitters and a light receiver, and arranges them in a matrix so that the light beams are orthogonal to each other, and detects smoke at each grid point. A distributed smoke detector characterized in that the presence or absence of smoke is determined by the AND operation of two orthogonal detectors passing through that point, and the state of smoke is displayed in a pattern on a display panel on the receiver side. The purpose of this system is to determine the position and spread of smoke at a monitoring location based on patterns.

Conventional smoke detectors are equipped with a pair of light emitter and light receiver, and smoke existing between them is monitored in a linear manner by attenuation of light.

Therefore, the location of the smoke was not known, and it was not possible to distinguish between cases where thin smoke was widely distributed and cases where there was thick smoke in some areas.

As described above, the present invention uses a plurality of transmitted light type smoke detectors each consisting of a pair of emitters and a light receiver, and arranges them in a matrix so that the light beams are perpendicular to each other, and detects the presence or absence at each grid point. This is determined by the AND operation of two orthogonal detectors that pass through that point, and the state of the smoke is displayed in a pattern on the display panel on the receiver side, so the position of the smoke and how it is dispersing can be seen at a glance. Since the system does not operate unless a floating object such as lattice point is present, it has the effect of extremely reducing malfunctions.
