[Detailed Description of the Invention] The present invention relates to an improvement of a number lamp for illuminating the license plate of an automobile.

Due to the design of the car and the relationship with other lamps (indicator lights), number lights must use a -Js type light source (lamp) whose luminous flux is not very large, so in many cases multiple light sources are used. and place it near the plate.

For this reason, in the conventional number lamp (see Figure 1), as shown in Figure 2, the area near the light source (section b) is extremely bright and the other area (section a) is dark. It was extremely difficult to uniformly illuminate the entire surface of blade A with a desirable luminous intensity.

Therefore, if an attempt is made to diffuse light by forming an appropriate diffusion step on the inner surface of the lens 3, the processing of the lens becomes troublesome and expensive, and the problem arises that the shadow of the lens step appears on the plate surface. This was easy to occur, and it was difficult to match the degree of symmetry specified by the standard.

本考案は、この様な従来品の不便欠点に鑑み、前面レン

In view of these inconveniences and shortcomings of conventional products, the present invention adds a simple process to a part of the front lens that is different from the diffusion step to effectively diffuse light and uniformly illuminate the entire surface of the plate with a desirable luminous intensity. The purpose of this project is to provide a number lamp for automobiles that can be used in a variety of ways.

Below, an example of implementing the present invention will be explained based on the drawings.
Reference numeral 1 denotes a lamp chamber composed of a housing 5, in which a plurality of light sources 2 (21 in the illustrated example) are housed and installed.

The two light sources 2, 2 are mounted laterally opposite each other in the lamp chamber 1 so that their direct light can pass through the lens 3 and illuminate the plate A surface.

The lens 3 is attached to the front surface of the lamp chamber 1, and has an intermediate portion 4 between the light sources 2, that is, approximately the center of the lens, recessed into the lamp chamber 1 in a substantially V-shaped groove shape.

The approximately V-shaped groove-shaped portion 4 of the lens 3 is formed by concavely bending the lens into an approximately ■-shape, but the lens thickness t and m become thinner toward the bottom 4' of the valley (t>m). ), so that the direct light from the light source 2 can be diffused at various angles.

In addition, each corner l of the approximately V-shaped grooved portion 4 is formed into a gentle arc, and the inner surface is etched to soften direct light and prevent the portion from appearing as a shadow on the plate A surface. It can be done.

In the present invention, a plurality of light sources are installed inside the lamp chamber, a lens is provided in front of the lamp chamber, and the intermediate portion of the lens between the light sources is recessed into the lamp chamber in a substantially V-shaped groove shape. Therefore, the direct light from each light source can be diffused into the Lθ range to illuminate the plate surface, and a part of the direct light is refracted by the approximately V-shaped groove portion and focused on the center of the plate. The central part of the plate is illuminated, so there is no difference in brightness and darkness in plate illumination, and the entire surface can be illuminated uniformly with a preferable luminous intensity.

Moreover, not only does it not require any special equipment to diffuse the light, but it also eliminates the need to form a diffusion step on the lens, so the construction of the lamp itself is simple. This makes molding extremely easy and can be provided at low cost overall.

Furthermore, the number lamp according to the present invention is not only recessed into a roughly V-shaped groove in the intermediate part between the light sources, but also formed in such a roughly V-shaped groove that the lens thickness becomes thinner as it reaches the bottom of the valley. Therefore, the light from the light source can be efficiently and effectively focused on the center of the license plate without forming a special diffusion step, and as a result, the entire surface of the license plate can be uniformly illuminated with more favorable luminous intensity. It is possible.

Furthermore, automobile license plate lights must be installed close to the license plate so that they not only illuminate the entire surface of the plate uniformly, but also do not cast unnecessary shadows on the plate.
In addition to not forming a diffusion step, this design also forms each corner of the approximately V-shaped groove with a rounded shape, so even if it is placed close to the license plate, there will be no unwanted shadows on the plate surface. There is no fear of dropping it.

依って、所期の目的を達成し得る。Therefore, the intended purpose can be achieved.
