Abstract

PURPOSE:To efficiently introduce air for preventing the separation of a boundary layer, by conducting the incoming air from a front grille to the rear part of an automobile body through air guide passages extending from air inlet ports in the front part along side pillars and the side edges of the roof. CONSTITUTION:Air flowing into the front part 2 of a vehicle through its front grille 5 on account of the movement of the vehicle enters into air guide passages 17 through air inlet ports 16 and flows through the parts 6, 6', 7, 7' of the passages along side pillars and the side edges of the roof 3 so that the air is ejected from the top edge 8 and right and left side edges 9, 9' of the rear part 4 of the vehicle along the outside surface of the rear part. Other air having flowed from the outside surface of the front part 2 to that of the rear part 4 along that of the roof 3 is pressurize by the air ejected from the top edge 8 and side edges 9, 9' of the rear part so that a boundary layer is maintained along the outside surface of the rear part and the pressurized air smoothly flows rearwards instead of making swirls. This constitution enables the efficient introduction of the air for preventing the separation of the boundary layer, without producing any adverse effect on the outline of the vehicle body.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention allows air taken into the front part of the vehicle body to be guided to the rear of the vehicle body through an air guide path, and then blown out rearward along the outer surface of the rear part of the vehicle body. The present invention relates to a vehicle body that prevents separation of the boundary layer of air on the outer surface of the rear surface of the vehicle and reduces air resistance of the vehicle.

When a car with a car body shape pi that has low air resistance, generally a streamlined external contour, moves forward, the air flow generated relative to the car body is It flows from the outer surface of the front section, through the outer surface of the roof section, and further to the outer surface of the rear section. However, despite many efforts to improve the contours of the car body,
In general, the boundary layer of air along the outer surface of the rear part of the car body tends to separate, and when the boundary layer of air on the outer surface of the rear part of the car body separates, vortices are generated on the outer surface of the rear part of the car body. This causes induced resistance to the vehicle body, and this induced resistance further increases the air resistance of the vehicle body.

Therefore, the main object of the present invention is to actively maintain the boundary layer by adding air flow to the boundary layer of air along the outer surface of the rear surface of the vehicle body, and to generate vortices on the outer surface of the rear surface of the vehicle body. It is an object of the present invention to provide a vehicle body that can suppress an increase in air resistance due to an increase in the speed of the vehicle and reduce fuel consumption.

As shown in more detail in FIGS. 4 and 5, the rear edge of the roof section 3 has an air guide passage 17 connected to the outer surface of the rear outer wall 11 of the rear section 4. A slit opening forming member 14 having a slit opening 15 opening toward the left and right side outer walls i0. .. A slit opening forming member 12 having a slit opening 13 that communicates with the air guide path 17 and opens toward the outer surface of the rear outer wall 11 of the rear surface section 4 is attached to the upper rear edge of the rear section 10'. The air guided from the air guide path 17VC is directed to the upper edge 8 and left and right side edges 9. of the rear surface portion 4. It is designed to be ejected backwards along the outer surface of the rear surface part 4.

Since the illustrated embodiment is configured as described above,
When the car moves forward, the front grille 5
The air flowing into the interior is taken into the air guide path 17 at the air intake port 16, and is passed through the side columns 6.6' and the roof section 3.
It is ejected rearward along the outer surface of the rear surface section 4 from the upper edge section 8 and the left and right side edges 9 degrees of the rear surface section 4 through the left and right side edges 7 and 7'. On the other hand, air flows from the outer surface of the front section 2 of the vehicle body 1 through the outer surface of the roof section 3 and onto the outer surface of the rear section 4.
, 9', the air flows smoothly rearward without generating a vortex while maintaining a boundary layer along the outer surface of the rear surface portion 4.

As described above, according to the present invention, since the air that has flowed into the front surface of the vehicle body through the front grille is taken in through the air intake port provided within the front surface, there is no adverse effect on the external contour of the vehicle body. Air for preventing boundary layer separation can be effectively taken in without causing any adverse effects.

In addition, the air taken in by the air intake port is guided by an air guide path that guides it to the rear of the vehicle body through the side pillars on the front side and the left and right edges of the roof. Air for preventing boundary layer separation can be guided to the rear of the vehicle body by effectively utilizing the vehicle body structure without adversely affecting the contour.

Furthermore, the air guided by the air guide path is blown out rearward along the outer surface of the rear surface from the upper edge and left and right side edges of the rear surface, so that the air is blown out from the upper edge and left and right side edges of the rear surface along the outer surface of the rear surface of the vehicle. Actively maintains the boundary layer by adding airflow to the boundary layer of air along the vehicle, preventing the formation of vortices on the outer surface of the rear of the vehicle, which increases air resistance as the vehicle speed increases. It is possible to suppress this and reduce the fuel consumption rate.
