As is well known, needle felt for papermaking, in which a web is integrally laminated on a base fabric using the needle punching method, has the advantage of flexibly pressing wet paper against the dryer surface and producing paper with a smooth surface. Therefore, it is widely used for drying high-quality paper. However, the problem of the fibers on the felt surface falling off is expected, and in order to improve this problem, the punching conditions, especially the punching density, are increased so that a part of the fibers constituting the felt layer is retained by the base fabric. Preferably, low melting point fibers are mixed into the web and heat treated to prevent the fibers from falling off due to the melt adhesive strength of the low melting point fibers. However, in general, needle felt for papermaking is made by laminating a fiber web on the surface of a base fabric woven from synthetic resin monofilaments or multifilaments, and then needling the fiber web. Therefore, the needle punching density of the fiber web and the needle piercing density of the base fabric are equal,
If the needle punching density is increased in order to prevent fibers from falling off, the damage to the base fabric increases, resulting in not only a significant decrease in strength but also a disadvantage in that air permeability is also deteriorated. In particular, when the base fabric is a monofilament fabric, the strength decreases significantly, and when the base fabric is a multifilament fabric, the air permeability decreases significantly.

The present invention provides a needle felt for paper making in which the above-mentioned problems of fiber shedding and disadvantages of reduced strength and air permeability in the needle felt for paper making are rationally improved, and a method for producing the same. A needle punching density layer is formed on at least one side of the base fabric, and the needle punching density of the base fabric is smaller than the needle punching density of the needle felt layer.

The method for producing needle felt for paper making of the present invention will be described below. First, a mesh-like auxiliary sheet (1) made of a low-melting point thermoadhesive synthetic resin, for example, a polyolefin film, is coated with polyester short fibers, polyamide short fibers, etc. Fiber webs (2) such as fibers or short acrylic fibers are layered and needled to form a 21 dollar felt sheet (31) of a desired thickness, and then the needle felt sheet (3) is formed into polyester filaments or polyester multifilaments. are superimposed on one or both sides of the base fabric (4) woven as warp and weft and needled, then heat treated to melt the auxiliary sheet, and needles are applied to one or both sides of the base fabric (4). The felt layer (3a) is polymerized and fixed to form a needle felt (5).

The above-mentioned auxiliary sheet (1) is a temporary sheet whose main purpose is to support the fibrous web (2) and assist in transporting the fibrous web (2) to the punching machine and forming the needle felt sheet (3). Therefore, it is desirable that the material be as thin as possible and have good needle penetration properties, such as coarse fabrics made of flat threads such as synthetic resin film cloth or slit yarns. And the above auxiliary sheet (1)

The base fabric (4) may be a conventionally commonly used fabric, such as a synthetic resin monofilament or a double fabric woven with multifilament twisted yarns arranged vertically and horizontally. ) is polymerized with the above-mentioned needle felt sheet (3), and needle punched with a relatively coarse density of about 100 to 200 points/d to combine the two [31+41] to form a papermaking needle felt sheet (5 ).

The thus obtained needle felt for papermaking (5) has a significantly lower needle penetration density into the base fabric (4) than conventional ones, and therefore has less damage to the threads constituting the base fabric (4), so it has a high strength. There is little deterioration, and the air permeability is improved. Further, as the above-mentioned auxiliary sheet (1), a low melting point thermally adhesive film sheet, film yarn fabric, split cloth, etc. is used, and after bonding with the base fabric (4), heat treatment is performed to melt the auxiliary sheet (1). By letting
The bonding strength between fibers and air permeability are further improved.
