Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the sealingness and mounting efficiency of the fixed sash window by a method wherein a sealing lip is formed in the outer surface of a weather strip at a position opposing a general surface of an opening peripheral edge on the vehicle body side, and a spongy seal is provided between the inside of the seal lip and vehicle body by means of a double-faced adhering tape. CONSTITUTION:A window glass 12 is inserted into a groove 10B of the weather strip 10 and a seal member 18 is adhered to the seal lip 10E. The weather strip 10 thus provided with the window glass 12 and seal member 18 is fitted to a flange 14a of the vehicle body 14 by peeling up the lip on the passanger room R side of the groove 10D at the window opening part of the vehicle body 14. At this time, a rubber 18a of the seal member 18 is deformed compressingly to be attached to the general surface 14b of the vehicle body 14 by means of the adhering tape 18. Thus, the sealing between the weather strip 10 and vehicle body 12 is performed by a spongy rubber of high followability deformability.
