Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a roll which is highly resistant to heat crack and abrasion and can transfer a hot ingot such as cast ingot or the like without supercooling, by fitting and detaining plural ceramic rings by means of plural support rings which are fitted to the cylindrical part of the roll. CONSTITUTION:The cylindrical part 1 of a roll body 5 of which both ends are formed into journals 6 is smaller in diameter than the diameter of a prescribed roll, and has step parts 7 for preventing the pull-out of support rings 2 and external screw parts 8 in one end part and the other end part. The ring 2 which is freely fittable onto the part 1 is fitted onto the part 1, and a ceramic ring 10 is fitted to the notched stepped part 9 of said ring so as to fit and detain one end part of the inside circumference by means of ceramic paper 15. The other end part of said ring 10 is similarly fitted and detained in the one notched stepped part 9 of a support ring 3. Thereafter, the rings 10 and the rings 3 are fitted similarly as shown in the figure, then a support ring 4 is fitted, a belleville spring 14, and a retaining ring 11 are fitted, a nut 17 is tightened and a stopper screw 18 is screwed down, whereby the assembly is completed.

However, such conventional guide rolls have a diameter of 700~
1. Thermal stress is generated by contact between slabs at a high temperature of 200°C, and repeated contact causes cracks, and corrosion wear, high-temperature oxidation wear, and mechanical wear on the roll surface progress significantly, resulting in a decrease in roll diameter. There is a problem with the thinness of the lifespan, which has a negative effect on the quality of the slab. In addition, due to the recent trend of high-temperature slab casting, water-cooled rolls also forcefully cool the slab, which not only causes energy loss but also causes surface cracks in the slab.

In the roll of the present invention assembled in this manner, the outer diameter of each ceramic ring 10 has a predetermined roll diameter. Each ceramic ring 10 is provided with a fit-holding force against the sealer body by the elastic pressing force of the disc spring 14, and the difference in thermal expansion between the ceramic ring and the metal phase is absorbed. Further, since each ceramic ring 10 has its beveled surface 10a in surface contact with the sloped surface 9b of the cut step 9, thermal expansion of the Ronil main body 5, the support rings 2, 3.4, and the ceramic ring 10 Even if the ratio is different, each member can expand and contract freely, and thermal expansion
The tension force and mechanical force mainly act on the -ky-i71 material as a compressive load and do not destroy them.

Furthermore, even if a mechanical shock is applied to the ceramic ring 10, it can be alleviated by the ceramic paper 15 interposed between the cutout step 9 and the ceramic ring 10. Note that even if any of the ceramic rings 10 is damaged, only the damaged ceramic ring needs to be replaced.

As is clear from the above explanation, the role of this invention is
Since it is a non-water-cooled roll, hot pieces such as slabs that come into contact with the roll are not overcooled, and it also has excellent heat cracking resistance and wear resistance, and can extend the life of the roll. In addition, since multiple ceramic rings are supported by alternating arrangement with multiple support rings, roll manufacturing costs are reduced, and partial repairs are possible, reducing maintenance costs. Many excellent industrial effects are brought about, such as enabling high-temperature holding and transfer, making it easier to process the slab in a high-temperature state in the next process.
