Abstract

PURPOSE:To enlarge freedom of design of a device and layout, by arranging a container bag of a developer made of a flexible thin film with its opening opposite to the face of a developer holding member and pressing the developer in the bag to the surface of said member. CONSTITUTION:A toner 7 is packed in the bag 6 against its elasticity, and when the bag is swollen greatly downward in a housing 10, the toner 7 in the bag 6 is in contact with the surface of the developing roll 5 and the surface of a coating roll 8 opposite to the opening 61 of the bag 6 and the toner always presses said surfaces by the elastic contraction force of the bag 6. The toner 7 is carried to the developing station A of a drum accompanied by the rotation of the roll 5 to develop a latent image. As the toner 7 in the bag is consumed, the bag 6 gradually shrinks, but the contact pressure of the toner to the surfaces of the rolls 5, 8 is kept almost constant by the elastic contraction force during the course of decrease due to consumption of the toner 7. Hence, the developer can be supplied from an optional direction without trouble, thus permitting enlarging freedom of design of a device and its layout.

In recent years, a -component developing system has been widely adopted as a developing device for dry type PPC copying machines (plain paper copying). In this development method, a one-component developer is formed and held as a thin layer of approximately uniform thickness in each part on the surface of the developer carrying member, and the thin developer layer surface of the member is placed on the surface close to the holding surface of the cap 1u, which is the member to be developed. The latent image is visualized by selectively transferring the developer in the thin developer layer to the latent image-bearing surface side in correspondence with the m-image pattern by bringing the developer into light (contact with the thin developer layer). The component development method is compared to the conventional development method that uses a two-component developer composed of toner and carrier.

Since there is no need for a stirring mechanism or the need to measure the concentration of the developer, there are various great advantages such as not only the device can be made smaller and lighter in weight, but also the developer does not require labor.

In the case of the above-mentioned magnetic component developer, by using a developer carrying member with a magnet inside, the developer supplied to the surface of the member is held as a magnetic adsorption layer, and furthermore, the developer magnetically The adsorption layer is made into a thin layer with a thickness of 791 mm, and is applied to the surface of the image carrier by absorbing it and holding it on the surface of the member. In other words, the developer is placed near the surface of the IS agent-supporting member. If the developer is supplied, the developer will easily adhere to the surface of the member and be held in a no-shape due to the magnetic attraction force. Therefore, there will be a gap in the direction in which the developer is supplied to the member. Cut it into a member and top that lawn or 19 or from 1jlk.

However, because the magnetite itself, which is blended as a magnetic component, has a unique color of black or brown, it is necessary to manufacture a developer for normal black copying, but it is a pure developer for color images. It is not possible to make cyan, magenta, and yellow color developers. Also, even if you mix the colors of each developer when the two painting squads are used, the ground color of the magnetite will come out.
You can't expect the original perfect locus color H appearance.

In the case of the non-magnetic component developer (II), contrary to the above, the developer is made of only 8FI components, so pure cyan, mazemme, and yellow color developers for color images are used. It has the advantage of being easy to make.

However, the formation of a thin layer of developer on the surface of the developer carrying member
Erasing cannot be performed using magnetic attraction force as in the case of the above-mentioned magnetic-component developer, and in this case, the developer must be supplied while always being in contact with the surface of the developer carrying member with a substantially constant pressing force. Due to the interaction of Coulomb force or van der Waals force due to the thin layer of developer material on the surface of the developer carrying member, a thin layer of developer material is formed on the surface of the developer carrying member. P-Ra A form is adopted in which it is attached and retained on the tree surface. For this reason, the direction in which the developer is supplied to the surface of the image material carrying member is limited to some extent, and some ingenuity is required in the supply force method. Therefore, the durability of the developing device itself and the degree of freedom given to the design of the plate copying machine are limited accordingly.

The present invention is the color 11 of the above-mentioned flower! Regarding a developing device using a non-magnetic developer which has the advantage of making it easy to prepare a developer, the supply of the developer to the surface of the developer supporting member is carried out at a rate of -11 iV of the former magnetic developer. In almost the same way as in the case of the agent, we have engineered it so that it can be supplied from any direction without any problems.

Then, the drum 1 is driven to rotate in the direction of the hour hand indicated by the arrow, and an electrostatic latent image is formed on the circumferential surface of the drum 1 by the action of the drum forming process controller. 1 is a developing device according to the present invention for visualizing images. Reference numeral 1o denotes an exterior housing of the developing device, which is a horizontally elongated case with approximately the same length as the drum 1. 5 is a developing device placed horizontally on the upper left side of the drawing in the Hakuji/G 10 and exposed to the outside through a horizontally long window hole 101 formed by dripping the left side of the cow surface on the upper left side wall of the housing parishioner in the longitudinal direction of the side wall. This is the current @p-ra as a drug-carrying member.

As described above, the present invention provides a means for supplying the dry component developer 7 to the developer carrying members 5 and 16.
A developer storage device 6 made of an elastic V film is disposed with an opening 61 facing the developer storage device 6, and the developer 7 is packed and stored in the bag against the elasticity of the bag. This is because the developer 7 is supplied while being pressed into contact with the surface of the developer carrying member by the confining force of the bag 6.

The developer carrying member 5 constantly carries the developer even when the consumption of the developer is reduced.
- It can be brought into a state where it is brought into contact with 16 surfaces with a substantially constant pressing force. As in the device shown in the example, toner replenishment can be performed not only from below the developing roller 25 and intermediate roller 216, which are developer carrying members, but also from above the developing roller 25 and intermediate roller 16, or from the side. However, since replenishment can be performed, the shape of the developing device 4 and the arrangement of the image selector 4 with respect to the photosensitive drum 1, which is an image carrier, can be freely selected.

Furthermore, since a constant suppressing force is always applied to the toner, no crosslinking phenomenon occurs that impedes toner replenishment.

As described above, the present invention provides a developing device i1 using a non-magnetic component developer.
Is there anything effective as a component C? It can also be used as a developer supply system and structure for a developer carrying member in an image forming apparatus using a magnetic component developer.
