After applying an elastomer adhesive to the entire surface of the metal strip, it is coated with a black thermoplastic synthetic resin using an extruder, then a transparent or black elastomer adhesive is applied to the entire surface, and then a photosensitive polymer is applied. Furthermore, a scale is printed on the surface using ink that blocks the transmission of ultraviolet rays, and the printed surface is irradiated with ultraviolet rays to photosensitively solidify the non-printed areas, and the resin on the scale is removed with a cleaning solution to form concave scales. The gist of this method is to obtain a synthetic resin and apply a transparent synthetic resin paint to the entire surface thereof.

Alternatively, there are known methods in which the scale printing surface is coated with an abrasion-resistant resin such as polyamide resin or polyvinyl chloride resin instead of a transparent paint, or a method in which a cresol-based transparent ink is directly printed on the polyamide resin coating layer. However, because of the purpose of use, a tape measure for length measurement requires a clear scale at all times, and the scale of the tape measure coated with the above-mentioned transparent paint is easily worn out after a relatively short period of use. Tape measures coated with polyamide resin or polyvinyl chloride resin have the disadvantage that the coating layer gradually peels off because the adhesion between the scale surface and the coating layer is not always good. Due to printing technology, tape measures with graduations of 115 to 1/3 of the thickness of the polyamide resin layer cannot pass through, and the scale becomes unclear after long-term use.

Not only is it possible to obtain scales with deep recesses, but since the scale itself is made of a black synthetic resin coating, it is extremely abrasion resistant, and the scale does not wear out, making it extremely durable. This is what gives you a tape measure.

First, a nitrile rubber adhesive 2 is applied to a hardened steel strip 1 of SK5 with a thickness of 0.1:3+m and a width of 10 mm to a thickness of about 10 μm. Apply it evenly over the entire surface and dry for several minutes at a temperature of around 150℃.
Next, the same material was heated for several tens of seconds at a temperature of around 300°C to vulcanize the nitrile rubber, and then immediately covered with black colored polyamide resin 2 using an extruder. Then, apply a polyester-based thermoplastic elastomer adhesive 4 to a thickness of about 10 μm on the entire surface of the same material, and then apply a photosensitive unsaturated polyester resin solution 5 to a thickness of 0.15 to 0.0 μm using an ordinary coating machine. , 2μ thick and dried in an infrared drying oven.

To remove the resin 8 from the unexposed area, the resin 8 is immersed in a caustic soda solution with a pH of 8 to 10, washed out, and then a transparent paint 9 (clear) made of urethane resin polyester resin is applied to the entire surface to obtain a finished product. be.
