Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a uniform coating film with excellent efficiency of coating, while inhibiting the contamination of environment for coating works, by providing a hood for inhibiting the scattering of paint mist and a booth hood at the coating gun, and sucking scattering paint into the booth hood. CONSTITUTION:The rear end of the tubular part 1a of a booth hood 1 is fixed by welding to an attaching plate 2 to which the base of the spray gun 3 of the coating gun A is fixed, a hood 4 for inhibiting the scattering of paint mist is provided in front of the nozzle 3a of the spray gun 3, and an annular passage 5 for sucking mist is formed between said hood 4 and the booth hood 1. In spray coating a wall surface P with paint from the nozzle 3a, paint mist in a space between the booth hood 1 and the wall surface P is sucked into a mist-sucking hood 14 leading to the booth hood 1. Since the mist adheres onto a filter 7 attached to a flanged perforated plate 4c at the front surface of the hood 4 for inhibiting scattering, the coating is performed with excellent work efficiency without the contamination of working environment caused by the scattering of the paint mist to outside.

In conventionally used airless painting and air spray painting, there is a lot of scattering of paint mist, and the paint is vulnerable to wind direction, etc., especially during outdoor painting work. Therefore, not only is there a lot of paint loss and it is difficult to form a uniform coating film, but also environmental pollution, particularly chemical damage caused by organic solvents and the like to painters, has become a major social problem.

It is connected to the. Further, the compressed air supply hoses 16 and 20 are branched and connected to a piping 23 of the compressor C, and the piping 23 is provided with a safety valve V+ and a pressure regulating valve 2 to supply compressed air at a constant pressure. On the other hand, the paint supply hose 17 pumps the paint to the spray gun 3 by the operation of a paint pump 24 connected to the piping 23 in a branched manner.

25 is a paint storage tank, and 26 is a filter. In addition, M is a motor, 27 is an operation panel equipped with a known automatic control circuit (not shown), 28 is a three-way valve, and 2 and 9 are air curtain operation valves, and the three-way valve 28 operates the operation and stop of the spray gun 3. However, if the air curtain is not required, the operating valve 29 is closed.

That is, the paint is sprayed from the nozzle 3a of the spray gun 3 toward the object to be painted, such as the wall P, but the paint mist floating between the booth hood l and the wall P is sucked by the vacuum blower B and adheres to the filter hood. Therefore, scattering of the booth hood 1 to the outside is reliably prevented.

At this time, in the space between the booth hood 1 and the wall P, turbulence occurs in the flow of the atomized paint sprayed from the spray gun 3 (mainly vortices at the time of spraying from the nozzle 3a), resulting in poor finish of the paint film. However, in such a case, by introducing air from outside the booth hood 1 through the ventilation path 11, a natural flow is created in the atomized paint, which is different from the case without a booth hood. A similar uniform coating film can be formed. The amount of ventilation from the ventilation passage 11 can be adjusted depending on the type of paint, etc. by changing the opening degree of the shutter 12.

On the other hand, if the distance between the booth hood 1 and the wall P is large due to scaffolding or the like, or if the worker is exposed to crosswinds during outdoor work, the scattering prevention hood 4 alone cannot completely prevent mist from scattering. In this case, compressed air is supplied to the annular pipe 9 by the operation valve 29, and the air is blown toward the wall surface P from the air outlet 9a to form an annular air curtain Q and blow the inside of the booth hood 1. Separate from outside air. This makes it possible to prevent mist from scattering from the booth hood 1 and adverse effects on the paint film due to crosswinds. The air volume and pressure of the air curtain Q, the suction air volume by the vacuum blower B, etc. are so set that the optimum conditions can be selected according to the type of paint, coating conditions, etc., using the pressure regulating valve v2 and the like.

Although the above example has been described in which the booth hood 1 surrounding the spray gun 1 is provided separately from the mist suction hood 14, it is also possible to integrate the two, or the booth hood 1 may be provided with a handle 21 to make it portable. Alternatively, a mounting bracket or the like for mounting on a traveling robot (not shown) may be provided.

As described above, in the present invention, a mist scattering prevention hood is provided in front of the nozzle of the spray gun, a booth hood is provided on the outer periphery of the hood, a mist suction path is formed between both hoods, and the mist is sucked through the filter in front of the prevention hood. Since the mist is sucked, it is possible to prevent the mist from scattering and improve the working environment. In addition, a ventilation path is provided between the mist 1F & scatter prevention hood and the booth hood to prevent swirling currents in the hood and form a uniform coating film, so operators do not need any special skill. , can be easily spray painted. Furthermore, an annular pipe for supplying compressed air is installed in the front of the booth hood to form an air curtain between the booth hood and the surfaces to be coated, so it is not affected by crosswinds, etc.
Uniform coating and prevention of mist scattering are achieved, and therefore, unmanned painting is possible by attaching this to a traveling robot or the like.
